After a few years no one will recognize the Moscow metro

The year that began in the Russian capital is called nothing more than the "year of the subway." Compared to previous years, the unprecedented construction of metro stations and depots has really begun in Moscow. If all the plans of the leadership of the capital and the subway succeed, then by the end of the year Moscow will significantly improve its transport infrastructure precisely due to the development of the metro.

In 2018, it is planned to commission 50 kilometers of new lines in the capital, 21 new stations, 3 electric depots. Only in the northeastern section of the Big Ring Line, 7 tunneling shields are simultaneously involved, and in total 27 tunneling shields operate in Moscow. The total number of workers involved in the construction of new metro lines is approximately 50 thousand people. It is noteworthy that the construction of the metro is carried out around the clock - the crew of drifters work in three shifts.

There is nothing surprising in stepping up the construction of the subway in Moscow. The Russian capital is developing rapidly, growing in new areas, increasing the population. Naturally, the growing demand for transport infrastructure should be met as soon as possible through the construction and launch of new metro lines.

On the eve of the New Year, the Khovrino station was launched in Moscow. They wanted to build it back in 1997, but then the state did not have money to finance a costly project. It took more than 20 years for residents of the neighborhood to be able to get their own metro station. Thanks to the opening of the station, it was possible not only to unload the neighboring metro station “River Station”, but also to reduce the congestion of roads.

Khovrino station was not the only metro station opened in Moscow. In January 2018, a new section of the Lublin-Dmitrov metro line was erected. The first train passed along the 6-kilometer line. Thanks to the construction of a new metro section, residents of several districts of Moscow will be able to comfortably get home by metro. By spring, the construction of the branch, as promised by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, will be finalized.

The metro should also come to remote areas in the east of the Russian capital. In the future, the city authorities hope that the line will run to the east of Moscow beyond the Moscow Ring Road. This will greatly improve communication with new developing areas and make the life of their population more comfortable. Increasing transport accessibility will contribute to the solution of many social and economic problems of the capital, will provide new jobs (after all, new stations and lines need to be serviced), will increase the attractiveness of apartments in areas where new metro lines will stretch.

As the history of the Moscow metro shows, the construction of new stations and metro lines is a good sign. This suggests that the financial well-being of the capital is improving and allows you to take care of the further development of transport infrastructure. The problems of transport accessibility in Moscow are very relevant and the launch of new stations will benefit the capital only.
