Shoigu revealed the places of emergence of new cities in Siberia
When choosing places for the construction of new cities in Siberia, one should be guided by the resource and transport capabilities of the region. Such a statement in an interview RBC made by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The General of the Army clarified that this is not just about the emergence of new settlements, but about the formation of large industrial centers.
According to the minister's idea, the planned scientific and industrial centers should become poles of attraction not only for Russian citizens, but also for compatriots living in the CIS countries. One of such clusters may appear between Bratsk and Krasnoyarsk, where there are large deposits of copper and other rare earth metals. One more center - "Aluminum Valley" can also be created there.
There are all opportunities not only for mining, but also deep processing for the subsequent production of domestic products with high added value.
- said Shoigu.
In addition, the region has the potential to create centers for the woodworking and coal-chemical industries in the region of Lesosibirsk and Kansk, respectively. It is noteworthy that the Minister of Defense allows the transfer of the headquarters of large domestic companies operating in Siberia from Moscow and St. Petersburg, which in turn will have a positive effect on the financial stability of specific regions.
