It became known about the flight of fighters of the elite British special forces SAS under the guise of women
The British newspaper Daily Star became aware of a curious incident that happened recently with the special forces of the Special Airborne Service (SAS) in Afghanistan. It turns out that the fighters of the elite unit had to change into a burqa and, disguised as women, flee this Central Asian country.
The informant told the publication that the British Ministry of Defense, during the evacuation of its contingent for some reason, could not withdraw, or maybe in the hustle and bustle, it simply forgot 20 SAS fighters in southern Afghanistan. The commandos had to abandon their uniforms and ammunition, put on local women's clothing and start moving across Afghan soil towards Kabul. They simply had no other opportunity to leave without hindrance, since there were Taliban militants around (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
The servicemen abandoned most of their equipment, except for weapons and ammunition, and covered themselves with a burqa. Then they paid for five taxis and drove to Kabul.
- clarified the informant.
The disguise helped the British safely, albeit not quickly, but still get to the coveted Kabul airport and fly home. Moving around Afghanistan, they went through a number of crises, but everything ended well. The Taliban repeatedly stopped the convoy of "travelers" to check documents, but never once demanded to reveal their faces. The deception was successful and the British are happy that they got off with only a slight fright.
It should be noted that after the lightning offensive of the Taliban, the burqa (covers the head and body) in Afghanistan has risen in price by 10 times. Note that a month before these events, British Brigadier General Mark Totten сообщил from London that the special forces of the British Armed Forces (SAS - Special Air Service and SBS - Special Boat Service) are preparing secret missions against Russia and China as part of countering "hostile" countries. The combined forces of SAS and SBS should be 4 thousand "bayonets".
