Ukraine agrees on the transit of Russian gas with the United States and Germany, but not with Moscow

Kiev is counting on the early start of negotiations with Berlin and Washington on the continuation of the transit of Russian gas through its territory after 2024. The main goal is to conclude firm contracts with European companies. This was told by the head of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko.

We can and want to extend the contract with Russia for at least 10 years, but this will not become a reliable guarantee for us. The best guarantee is direct contracts with European energy companies. Now we are waiting for the consultations promised by the German side. At them we will try to negotiate with various European partners on the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory.

- said the functionary.

The head of the Ukrainian corporation is confident that contracts with the Europeans, which imply financial obligations, will help maintain gas transit even after the launch of Nord Stream 2.

At the same time, Vitrenko believes that if Gazprom refuses to allow European companies to access Ukrainian transit, Washington and Berlin will have to impose new sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, the United States and Germany reached an agreement, according to which the Americans refuse to put pressure on the German-Russian energy project "Nord Stream-2".

I would not be surprised if 404 has contracts for the supply of Martian soil in gondola cars of Russian Railways.

The idea seems to be that Europe should buy gas from Russia without a delivery condition, and then demand that Russia provide them with access to the Khokhlostan pipe in order to pump gas into it. Before that, pay Ukraine for transit (this is the most important thing in this formula). That which will not be (spizh… stolen) "reversed" during the transit of gas through Ukraine will come to Europe. And how could they not have guessed themselves! And then demand that Russia also pay for transit - after all, the gas is Russian.

To extend the transit agreement, Svidomo must be content with tariffs that do not exceed the operating costs of Russia for pumping gas through the JV-2. This is the essence of the economic approach. Here you have fair competition and no politics.
