Syrian missiles explode near Tel Aviv
Syrian government media reported an overnight Israeli Air Force attack on targets in the Damascus area. The monitoring group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, in turn, clarifies that the pro-Iranian missile development centers - research laboratories in the Barze and Jamray regions - were targeted.
According to the Syrian state agency SANA, most of the Israeli missiles were intercepted by an air defense system.
In the meantime, explosions rocked the Israeli coast on the night of September 2–3. Residents of Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya and other localities reported two powerful claps. According to the correspondent of Channel 13, Alon Ben-David, Syrian anti-aircraft missiles (apparently 5B28M of the S-200 complex), fired in pursuit of Israeli planes, flew into the country's airspace and exploded in the Mediterranean Sea, near Tel Aviv.
The Israel Defense Forces is verifying this information.
At the same time, it is important to note that in Israel, shortly before the explosions, an automatic missile attack reporting system was activated.
