Russian aviation intensifies air strikes in Syria
Aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces intensified air strikes against terrorists of the ISIS group banned in the Russian Federation, working on targets in the Syrian desert on the border of two governorates - Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa. In the last 20 hours alone, more than 65 sorties were made and XNUMX strikes were made against targets.
Before the start of the operation, three unmanned aerial vehicles of the Aerospace Forces carried out reconnaissance of the enemy's positions.
The actions of the Russian aviation are associated with the imminent start of the next stage of the ground part of the campaign to eliminate the remaining cells of militants at the junction of the provinces of Hama, Raqqa and Aleppo. Su-34 front-line bombers are constantly in the sky over the area.
The ground operation of the government army against ISIS in the Syrian desert began in April this year. The main goal of the campaign is to destroy the network of underground communications of the enemy, thanks to which terrorists make themselves felt, carrying out sabotage in the rear of the Syrians.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the elimination of two hundred militants northeast of Palmyra in a few months.
