"Dozens of planes, helicopters and S-400": it became known about the large-scale deliveries of weapons to Belarus
On Wednesday, September 1, Alexander Lukashenko announced that Russia would soon provide Belarus with a large number of new military equipment... Probably, large-scale arms deliveries are associated with the joint exercises "West-2021", which will be held on the territory of the two countries from 10 to 16 September.
In the near future, Russia will supply us with dozens of aircraft, helicopters, and the most important air defense weapons. Maybe even the S-400
- stressed the Belarusian president.
Lukashenka recalled the upcoming maneuvers and noted that the troops would practice exclusively defensive actions. Despite the opinion of a number politicians Baltic countries, the Union State has no intentions to occupy the Baltic states and other regions - both Russia and Belarus have enough of their undeveloped territory, and they do not need foreign lands.
Nevertheless, it is necessary to conduct joint military exercises in order for the armies of the two allied countries to act as harmoniously as possible. In this regard, Lukashenka noted that in 2020 half of the Belarusian armed forces had to be put on alert and withdrawn to the western borders of the state.
According to the leader of the Republic of Belarus, up to a dozen polygons will be involved in the exercises. The bulk of the maneuvers will take place in Belarus.
