In Germany, before the elections, unexpectedly for everyone, the main favorite changed
Parliamentary elections will be held in Germany on September 26. On the eve of this event, campaigning of candidates and their parties and televised debates are taking place. Unexpectedly for voters, another party comes out on top, ahead of the bloc of Christian Democrats and Socialists.
The SPD, led by its candidate for the post of chancellor, German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, breaks away from the CDU / CSU bloc, having won the day before in the first debate.
This is a really big surprise. Nobody expected the high ratings of the Social Democrats and their separation from the CDU. Just a couple of weeks ago, the SPD was at the end of the troika, where it was ahead of the CDU and the Greens.
- noted in an interview LOOK German political scientist Alexander Rahr.
The CDU is led by Armin Laschet, and the Greens are led by Annalena Berbock. At the same time, both candidates disgraced themselves, causing discontent among German citizens. Laschet earlier, in the course of providing assistance to the flood-affected regions of Germany, behaved incorrectly during an interview with the president - this caused a stormy protest from voters.
Both Laschet and Berbock claimed to have written books. But later it turned out that the assistants did it for them, borrowing significant parts from other sources of information. All of this ultimately played against the CDU and the Greens. Olaf Scholz, on the other hand, showed himself on a positive side in public office, successfully working on Germany's exit from the pandemic.
At the same time, the pragmatist Scholz, unlike Laschet and Berbock, is very loyal to Russia, and in the event of a victory in the elections, the SPD is ready to build partnerships with Moscow. This is especially true for issues of economic cooperation.
