Ukraine is on the verge of introducing a transport blockade of Transnistria
On Sunday, August 29, Ukrainian customs officials denied information about the postponement of the ban on the movement of cars with the registration of Transnistria. It was previously noted that permission to enter vehicles from this region without neutral registration numbers and MD stickers will be extended until January 10 next year.
Thus, Ukraine is actually on the verge of introducing a transport blockade of Transnistria.
Meanwhile, in Odessa it was reported that the data on the postponement of the ban on the admission of cars with Transnistrian registration without neutral numbers to participate in traffic between the countries was posted by mistake. At the checkpoint of the Kuchurgan customs of Ukraine, they noted that no instructions were received to ban the movement of cars.
For the first time, Chisinau appealed to Kiev regarding a ban on the movement of vehicles with registration data from Transnistria at the beginning of last year. Taraspol promised to take similar measures in response to Moldova. The introduction of restrictions was postponed.
At the August 11 meeting of Maia Sandu with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, the head of the Moldovan state stressed that no unilateral restrictive measures would be taken against Transnistria. Tiraspol doubted Sandu's words, but noted their readiness for fruitful work with Chisinau.
