Closing borders with Russia will bring down the Ukrainian economy
No sooner had information been heard that Ukraine was discussing the possibility of blocking rail links with Russia, as an unexpectedly sharp reaction to this news from a number of well-known Ukrainian politicians.
Information about a possible early cancellation of trains became known from the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan. He voiced it on one of the Ukrainian TV channels during an interview. It is easy to guess that the logical closure of this decision could be the complete closure by the Ukrainians of the border with Russia.
It is amazing to hear indignation from this news from the mouth of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Radical Party of Ukraine Igor Mosiychuk:
It should be noted that the politician, like most of his party members, is not distinguished by an ardent love for Russia. On the contrary, he is known for sharp attacks in relation to our country.
And well, if only Mosiychuk would have spoken in that vein. But his views are shared by other well-known Ukrainian politicians and senior officials.
For example, Yulia Tymoshenko believes, and it’s hard to disagree with her, that the final collapse of the Ukrainian economy is hindered only by money transfers sent by Ukrainian “zarobitchans” to their homeland. She says that the country should be grateful to these people. After all, they are doing everything to keep their families afloat. According to her, from Ukrainians working abroad, about 5 billion euros have been received in Ukraine since the beginning of this year.
They have long been talking about breaking the railway connection with Russia in Ukraine, therefore, opponents of this step have spoken out before. Despite the fact that many of them have anti-Russian views, they do not consider closing the border with our country a reasonable step.
And the deputy head of the Ministry for the Affairs of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Georgy Tuk, who can hardly be called a Russophile, considers this step not only unreasonable, but also meaningless. Indeed, the cancellation of trains will simply lead to the activation of other carriers. I think the cancellation of railway flights will sincerely rejoice the owners of intercity buses and taxis, who can earn more.
Do not forget that people who are mentally close to Russians live in Ukraine. And ordinary Ukrainians, like Russians, were always distinguished by their wit and ability to overcome any difficulties. Any restrictive measures of the Ukrainian authorities will simply force the citizens of this country to find ways to circumvent these restrictions.

Millions of Ukrainians, no matter how anyone relates to them, but these are still Ukrainians, Ukrainian citizens, working on the territory of the Russian Federation. And if tomorrow, relatively speaking, the borders are closed, then how can people get to their homes - by mail, by parcel? And what will they earn then? And ours economy, which is already in stagnation thanks to our beggars (politicians), will finally collapse.
