Biden: I expect Putin to prosecute cybercriminals who extorted money from the United States
During a White House meeting on cybersecurity, US President Joe Biden said he expects Russian leader Vladimir Putin to take action to bring cybercriminals to justice who extorted money from the United States to justice. Biden called the cyber threat not only the main national security problem, but also a global challenge. He clarified that the United States has already rallied the G7 countries to bring to justice those states that harbor ransomware hackers and help criminals. The President stressed that everything is becoming targets of hackers - from smartphones of citizens to pipelines.

Biden noted that American cybersecurity talent is not growing fast enough to keep up with the times. He pointed out that there are still about 500 unfilled cybersecurity vacancies in the United States. Therefore, this issue should become a priority for his administration.
He reminded those present that back in May he issued an order to modernize the cyber defense of the US federal government. Now only those products are bought that meet certain criteria.
