Russian diplomat: it will become more difficult for British ships to violate the maritime borders of the Russian Federation

After the incident with the entry of the destroyer HMS Defender (D36) into the Crimean waters on June 23, it will be much more difficult for the British Navy to enter the territorial waters of the Russian Federation without warning. Russian Ambassador to London Andrei Kelin stated this in an interview with the HARDtalk program of the British television company BBC.

The diplomat noted that the British warship deliberately violated the Russian maritime border, carrying out an order, and did not carry out an "innocent passage" from Odessa to Batumi, as high-ranking British officials said. He clarified that the British authorities decided to demonstrate to Moscow that London considers these waters to be Ukrainian and used the destroyer for this.

We didn’t say that we would open fire, as some parliamentarians may have said, but next time it will be much more difficult for them, because this is not the first time a British warship has done such a thing.

- warned the head of the Russian diplomatic mission, without going into details.

Note that at the end of June this year, at Cape Fiolent in the Black Sea, the above ship violated the maritime border of the Russian Federation, deepening 3 km into Russian territorial waters. A Russian patrol ship opened warning fire, and the Su-24M bomber dropped several aerial bombs in the direction of the "British".

As for the previous "prank" of London, it is necessary to recall the case in October 2020, when the destroyer HMS Dragon (D35), armed with anti-ship missiles "Harpoon", appeared 22 km west of Sevastopol. Moreover, the ship of the British Navy went with the included radar stations for weapons control and detection of air and sea objects, which violated the rules of innocent passage.

So the British naval base in Ochakov, "close by" the Crimea and Sevastopol!

If we don't open fire, why will it be more difficult for them to repeat it?
Here our parliamentarians, well done, frightened the Britons so that they would not try to repeat it, but this "diplomat" took it and crossed it all out, why is he provoking? Unclear.
Diplomats need to express themselves not only diplomatically, but also understandably ...
