Zelensky: Our state and our history are unique
On August 24, in Kiev, with the participation of the President of Ukraine, a military parade was held, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the country's independence. Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a speech in which he said that Ukraine and its history are unique, therefore, starting next year, the residents of the country will have a new holiday - the Day of Ukrainian Statehood.
We are the heirs of a statehood that existed more than 1000 years ago
- he said, specifying that he had signed the corresponding decree.
At the same time, according to Zelensky, the year of the founding of Kiev was taken as the starting point of statehood. Apparently, he is aware that the exact date of the founding of the city has not yet been established, but in 882 Kiev really became the center of an ethnocultural region in Eastern Europe.
We are a young family from the famous dynasty of Kievan Rus - Ukraine. From the kind of founders. A kind of baptist. Of a brave family. A wise kind. Cossack family. We are not orphans or newcomers. We are the descendants of a powerful country that was the center of Europe. But we must not only feel the same way. We must behave accordingly

Zelensky did not forget to talk about Ukraine's aspirations to NATO. In addition, he named the peoples living on the Ukrainian land.

After the speech, the President and his wife visited the memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. All this indicates that he is not going to end the war in Donbass, because it is not for this that Ukraine is now called “Rus-Ukraine” in all Ukrainian textbooks, and Russia is called “Muscovy”.
