Turkish media: Ankara was shamed in Crimea for participation in the Ukrainian "Crimean platform"
On August 23, a summit of the Ukrainian "Crimean Platform" was held in Kiev, in which Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu took part. Moscow drew attention to this and shamed Ankara for such a step, writes Turkish independent online media outlet Medya Gunlugu.
Ankara, unfortunately, took an ignoble position, supporting the American-Kiev provocation against the territorial integrity of Russia
- declared RIA News" Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the President of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Georgy Muradov.
In his opinion, support for such an openly anti-Russian event does not take into account the difficult pages of the joint Russian-Turkish history, which "should not be tempted again." He believes that such policies this is tantamount to what is said in the ancient Russian proverb - "do not dig a hole for another", with the corresponding consequences.
Muradov recalled that it was the Russian leadership in July 2016 that helped to save Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when Western "partners" and the local opposition tried to carry out a coup d'etat. Now Ankara has "thanked" Moscow.
The functionary added that the Crimean Tatars living in Turkey consider Crimea to be Russian. Moreover, they have repeatedly called on Ankara to be "honest and noble" towards Moscow.
The publication noted that the signing of another contract for the purchase of a new batch of Russian S-400 air defense systems by the Turkish military should take place in the near future. To date, Turkey has purchased four S-400 batteries from Russia for $ 2,5 billion.
