NYT: Trash cans full of computer equipment - evidence of confusion during the evacuation of the US Embassy from Kabul
The recent evacuation of the US Embassy in Kabul is clear evidence of the confusion that reigned. This is how the American newspaper New York Times (NYT) describes this process, as well as the destruction of secret documents, electronic media and symbols (belonging to departments).
The trash cans are overflowing with destroyed equipment. Broken computer parts are strewn across the ground. Employees burn documents. Videos and photos show chaos as Americans rushed to evacuate the U.S. embassy in Kabul after the Taliban stormed into the city
- informs edition.
The NYT notes that these events took place in a rush and an atmosphere of nervousness. The shots taken by the American military show full garbage containers, monitors, keyboards, system units and other equipment lying in large numbers on the ground. How much of this has been disabled is difficult to understand, but the Americans hope that the Taliban will now be unable to obtain valuable information.
The staff of the embassy and the military who took part in the above operation were taken by helicopters to the Kabul airport, after which they left Afghan soil, the media concluded.
Note that something similar took place at the embassy of Canada and a number of other Western countries. At the same time, the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan did not need to do anything of the kind. Representatives of the terrorist movement "Taliban" banned in the Russian Federation took protection of the Russian diplomatic mission and promisedthat "not a single hair will fall."
