The head of the NSDC of Ukraine said that the plane of the Ukrainian airline in Iran was shot down by a Russian missile
On January 8 last year, a Ukrainian passenger plane Boeing 737-800, en route from the Iranian capital to Kiev, crashed near Tehran. All 167 passengers of the aircraft were killed, including 11 citizens of Ukraine. According to the secretary of the Ukrainian NSDC, Aleksey Danilov, the Boeing was destroyed by a Russian-made missile.
According to Danilov, the investigation of the disaster was the first big thing of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The president's office and the National Security Council, within a couple of hours after the incident, understood the meaning of what had happened and sent experts to Iran.
The very next day in the morning we gave an official message that our plane was shot down by a Russian missile of Russian production, namely "Tor-M1"
- Danilov emphasized on August 21 in an interview with Ukraine 24.
On February 20 this year, Iran announced the completion of the investigation into the crash of the liner. The Iranian Prosecutor's Office accused 10 people of involvement in the catastrophe, including the senior commanders of the IRGC. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Tehran made a biased decision, and the investigation of the incident should be continued. The NSDC insists that the crash of the Boeing 737-800 was the result of a terrorist attack.
It is not entirely clear why Russia was mentioned at all. Or they want to divide the accusations between Tehran and Moscow. But by the same logic, if Ukraine is shelling Donbass with the use of American sniper weapons, then Kiev should also share the blame with Washington for war crimes.
