The hasty withdrawal of NATO troops after the seizure of Kabul by the terrorist Taliban banned in Russia does not go unnoticed by US allies in different regions of the world. Many satellites in Washington no longer have confidence in unconditional support for their actions. The latest events in Afghanistan give rise to reflection on the part of Ukrainian experts.

To support America's allies around the world, former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called on the White House to "signal" to Taiwan, Iraq and Ukraine. However, this is unlikely to push Kiev to become more active in Donbass - political scientist Oleg Nemensky adheres to this point of view.



According to Nemensky, the seizure of Afghanistan by the Taliban and the indiscriminate evacuation of NATO troops from the country indicate that no one should fully rely on the Americans. Ukraine seeks to obtain the status of the main ally of the North Atlantic Alliance, which Afghanistan has possessed since 2012, which did not help Kabul to resist the Taliban, despite the financial and military assistance from the United States. Kiev should pay attention to the state of affairs in Afghanistan and draw the necessary conclusions.

All this affects the mood of society and the ruling circles. Against this background, it would be politically unwise to organize hostilities in the Donbass.
