Su-57 in serial production: photo from the assembly shop

Photos of the workshop assembly of the fifth generation Su-57 fighters have appeared on social networks. Serial production of the upgraded aircraft will begin in 2025 as part of the Megapolis R&D project.

The first serial fighter was handed over to the Russian military department in January this year. The state contract provides for the production of 76 such aircraft. According to the head of the United Aircraft Building Corporation Yuri Slyusar, the stable assembly rate of the Su-57 is one of the key tasks of the UAC for 2021 and a "big challenge" for manufacturers of military equipment.



The updated version of the fighter will be single. The aircraft will be equipped with a new type of cockpit with advanced avionics, as well as a second stage engine. According to Nikita Dorofeev, head of the cockpit department of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, subsequent improvements to the fighter include a control system for the aircraft using voice or eye movements.

The head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, also spoke about the high quality of the new fifth-generation fighter. In his opinion, the Su-57 is one of the best aircraft of this type in terms of its tactical and technical properties. Mikheev also noted that representatives of five countries have already become interested in purchasing the Russian flying machine.
