The media showed the assembly shop of heavy UAVs "Okhotnik"
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited an aircraft plant in Novosibirsk (NAZ named after V.P. Chkalov), a branch of PJSC Sukhoi Company. During the visit, he got acquainted with the progress of work on the manufacture of the second prototype of the heavy attack UAV S-70 "Okhotnik". This was announced on August 5 by the TV channel "Star", showing the workshop where the assembly of these stealth drones is carried out.
It should be noted that the updated C-70 should appear by the end of this summer. The first copy of the "Okhotnik", which took to the skies in August 2019, and in September made a joint flight with the Su-57 fighter, can be considered to a greater extent an experimental demonstrator of technologies... The second instance, which is currently being created, will be a pre-production sample.
The first flight of the updated "Hunter" should take place before the end of this year or take place at the beginning of 2022. The start of serial deliveries to the RF Armed Forces is scheduled for 2024.
The 20-ton "Okhotnik" is made according to the "flying wing" aerodynamic design. The design uses special materials, and the coating makes it difficult to detect the radar of a potential enemy. The UAV is equipped with a variety of equipment for optical-electronic, radio-technical and other types of reconnaissance. It is also equipped with a decent assortment and quantity of ammunition, from unguided aerial bombs to guided air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles.
