Nord Stream 2 received a new route

1
The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will nevertheless be built, despite the desperate opposition from the United States, Ukraine and several European states. On the way to its implementation, the Kingdom of Denmark was the last stumbling block. Encouraged by Uncle Sam, the "giraffe killers" tried, if not to stop the construction of the pipeline through their territorial waters, then at least to slow down this process. Work on legislation has even begun in Copenhagen to bring political solution hastily prescribed environmental standards.

Recall that, according to Russian-German agreements, two pipelines of the gas pipeline will pass through the Baltic Sea through which Germany will receive up to 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The project operator is Nord Stream 2 AG, owned by Gazprom. The project cost is initially estimated at 9,5 billion dollars, the costs are divided between the Russian and European sides in half. The counterparties are the well-known multinational corporations Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershell. It is believed that Germany will receive a strong impetus for its economic development after the launch of Nord Stream-2 and will turn into a major gas hub. In addition to Berlin, Helsinki and Stockholm have already given permission to lay an underwater pipeline through their territory. The matter remained for small - the consent of Copenhagen.

But then the process stalled. Serious collective pressure from Washington, the neighbors in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe, began to exert serious collective pressure on small Denmark. The arguments of the opponents of Nord Stream 2 are truly ridiculous. The ordinary gas pipeline is called the "new type of weapon" that Moscow uses in a hybrid war against democratic European regimes. After the launch of the pipeline, Gazprom will supposedly gain control of 60% of the German gas market and will be able to put pressure on Berlin, and through it, on the capitals of the enlightened states of Central and Eastern Europe. Apparently, the dictates from Washington to the Europeans are much nicer.

Brussels officials agreed to Donald Trump to build 9 to 11 terminals on his coast to receive US liquefied natural gas. Europe will pay for their construction at its own expense. Needless to say, LNG supplied by tankers from the United States is significantly more expensive than Russian gas from a pipe?

However, no one intends to abandon Nord Stream 2 halfway. If the Danish problem cannot be solved in a good way, it must be circumvented. In the literal sense of the word. The representative of the Austrian corporation OMV, participating in the implementation of the pipeline, said:

As for Nord Stream 2, we have developed a different route, so that Nord Stream 2 [...] will not need Danish approval. This will lead to additional costs, it’s true, but the total cost of the project can still be saved.

It is very instructive that the Kingdom of Denmark, which tried to interfere with the construction, will remain with a nose, although it could receive its “Danish money”.

"Not everything is calm in the Danish kingdom ..." Well, they don't want to learn from other people's mistakes! The example of Poland, which was left "with a nose" in the refusal to build a joint venture (1) through its territory, does not teach ... After all, if there are ways to bypass, then "normal heroes always go around." As the saying goes: "smart will not go up the hill ..." So this "mountain" will be bypassed, and in the end they will also save money in the future, because you will not have to pay for transit ... Otherwise, Denmark would have free money while not investing anything ... But ...
