Russia is going to break the monopoly of Israel and Turkey in the drone market
Until recently, Israel and Turkey were the undisputed leaders in the mid- and small-sized attack drone industry. However, the MAKS-2021 air show showed that in the near future they will have to seriously compete with Russia.
Until now, our country has offered only two export UAVs: Orion and Helios-RLD. Both were supplied in a reconnaissance version.
However, this year Russia presented three shock drones at once in versions intended for sale to foreign partners. We are talking about drones "Altius-U", "Thunder" and "Orion-E".
The latter in its characteristics, including weapons and resistance to electronic warfare, is significantly superior to the "famous" Turkish Bayraktar. However, it costs much less than its counterpart, which is offered in the "base" for $ 2,7 million.
Surpasses the "Turk" and our UAV "Altius-U". According to experts, its combat effectiveness is about 1,4 times higher than that of the Bayraktar. At the same time, the Russian drone is equipped with AI, which allows it to perform the most complex maneuvers on the machine, including choosing a target and weapons for an attack.
Finally, "Thunder", which is capable of carrying up to 2 tons of payload and reaching speeds of up to 1 km / h, is actually an unmanned stealth attack aircraft. Its combat radius reaches 700 km. In the future, the drone is planned to be used as an unmanned slave in the forward echelon of strike aviation groups.
Tellingly, all this fighting power is offered at a price significantly lower than that of the industry leaders. Thus, it is obvious that Russia will become a serious competitor in the drone strike market, and it is possible that in the future it will even be able to “squeeze” Israel and Turkey.
