Cheeky ambush of militants: the Syrian general and his entourage perished

2
On August 1, in Syria, military personnel celebrated their professional holiday - Syrian Army Day. Unfortunately, he was overshadowed by the tragic incident that occurred in Damascus.

According to RIA News, citing a source in the Syrian intelligence services, members of the Islamic State terrorist organization (banned in Russia) ambushed a group of Syrian troops led by Brigadier General Nadim Asaad. This happened near the Dumeir airfield. As a result, the general was killed. Together with him, two Syrian officers and ten soldiers were killed. Five more soldiers were injured of varying severity.

Nadim Asaad was responsible for the safety of the Dumeir airfield and the surrounding area. He and his associates fell into the trap of terrorists when the military inspected the Tell Dakva area.

Cheeky ambush of militants: the Syrian general and his entourage perished

In Damascus, there are no more territories under the control of any illegal armed groups. In April of this year, the Dumeir region was completely liberated by Syrian troops with the support of Russian specialists. The combination of army operations and negotiations forced the militants to agree to leave Dumeirah in the northern part of the country, in the Jarablus region (Aleppo province).

Unfortunately, the bandits still have mobile groups that are still capable of serious sabotage. As shown by the tragic death of Nadim Asaad and other soldiers who were next to him.

A source in the Syrian secret services who shared this information added that the militants who had organized the ambush arrived from the desert east of Dumeirah. There is a 55-kilometer zone under the control of militants, mainly from a group called Jaish al-Suvwar (Army of the Revolutionaries). There are also American troops from the At-Tanf base, which the Syrian leadership is demanding to liquidate, since the United States settled there illegally.

In particular, in Damascus, it is believed that the terrorists of the Islamic State, who carried out attacks on some villages of the province of Suweida on July 25 and organized a series of terrorist attacks in the city of Suweida (resulting in the deaths of more than 200 people), also came from an area located near the American base in at-tanf. This was stated by the Syrian network for human rights.

Another "fresh" crime of terrorists was the abduction of a Japanese journalist who is an Italian citizen. The militants who did not identify themselves published a video recording of the captured foreigner. Presumably, this abduction is the work of one of the branches of Al-Qaeda (banned in the Russian Federation).

Earlier, the head of the Syrian state, Bashar al-Assad, in an interview expressed confidence that the war in Syria would soon be over and that the army would defeat the remaining terrorists. The special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for settlement in the SAR, Alexander Lavrentyev, recently announced that the militants remain in three areas - at-Tanf, Idlib and on the border with Iraq. The reality, however, is that terrorists, including the Islamic State, still pose a serious danger and are capable of sorties such as those organized in Suweyd and now in Dumeirah.

The Americans would take this opportunity. to bomb the base of the Syrian forces. why are Syrian troops shy? They can also bomb this terrorist camp. Then they will be afraid of more and such ambushes will no longer suit.
