Pakistani army pledges to support Taliban with air strikes
On Wednesday July 14, the Taliban (members of the Taliban terrorist organization banned in Russia) announced the seizure of the center of Spin Boldak district near the Afghan-Pakistani border, as well as taking control of the police headquarters in Kandahar. On Friday July 16, Islamabad warned Kabul that it would deploy troops if government forces attack the Taliban in the area.
The Pakistani Air Force has officially warned the Afghan Army and Air Force that any action to drive the militants out of the Spin Boldak area will be met and repelled by Pakistani aviation.
- said the First Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh on his Twitter account.
Saleh added that Pakistani aviation is currently supporting Taliban operations in some Afghan provinces from the air.
Meanwhile, according to various sources, up to 85 percent of the territory of Afghanistan is under the control of the Taliban. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the situation in this Central Asian country is in a state of "rapid degradation." According to RIA News, the head of Russian diplomacy sees a real danger in the "overflow of instability" from Afghanistan to other countries in the region.
