Step forward: Russia revives small aircraft

1
The domestic aircraft industry is preparing for mass production of the aircraft, which replaced the legendary An-2. The new light-engine TVS-2DTS will be produced at the facilities of the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. By 2025, small aircraft will receive at least 200 of these machines.

The main operator of modern "corn breeders" will be a new company that will unite the small air carriers of Yakutia. The corresponding agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the regional government. The state, in turn, is ready to partially subsidize the costs of certification of the aircraft.

Thus, the Russian government resolved two issues at once: firstly, finally, the first real steps were taken to restore small aircraft, and secondly, the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, which is going through difficult times, will receive hundreds of orders.

No less joy from these News experienced and the Chaplygin Siberian Research Institute. It was here, on an initiative basis, without any state order, that TVS-2DTS was developed. The Institute understood that Russia needed such a plane, with its vast expanses.

Today, at least 700 An-2s are still flying in our sky. In total, there are about 4,5 thousand of them in the world. Therefore, the new "corncob" will be in demand not only in Russia itself, but also in countries of Africa, South America and East Asia. Moreover, the large-scale use of modern of technologies in this aircraft can become a kind of "bait" for Western countries. In the USA, in particular, small aviation is developed like nowhere else in the world.

The main feature of TVS-2DTS is its all-composite glider. This contributed to a radical decrease in the mass of the aircraft, which, in turn, will allow transporting twice as much cargo than the "old man" An-2 could do. The engine of the American company Honeywell with a capacity of 1100 hp it accelerates the aircraft to 300 km / h, and the maximum flight range with full load will be slightly less than 1000 km.

Having retained the best qualities of the “corn box”, such as the possibility of using unpaved strips and ease of maintenance, the new aircraft received a comfortable cabin and a cabin.

The promising TVS-2DTS has been undergoing factory tests for more than six months now. Pilots speak of him as an unpretentious machine, extremely easy to drive, even during takeoffs and landings. Already now we can say with confidence that our country has finally created real prerequisites for the revival of small aircraft. The matter remains small.

It is even clear to a goat that at our distances it is not conceivable to do without small aircraft. In Soviet times, almost every remote area had its own small airfield for landing the AN-2. Almost all mail was delivered by small aircraft in Siberia and the Far East. It is very good that small aviation is being revived.
