Why does the West hate Russia and Russians
Russia is a favorite target for attacks in the Western press. It seems that hatred of our country is literally ingrained in the consciousness of Europeans and Americans, zombified by anti-Russian propaganda. Whatever political the system was not in Russia, no matter who was in power, but the West is always dissatisfied with our country. Only in those periods of history, when Russia is as weak as possible, in the West they temporarily calm down and rub their hands, can they even call Russian leaders partners and friends.
In fact, the roots of hatred of Russia and Russians go back centuries - these are the religious contradictions of the Middle Ages, and the geopolitical conflicts of the New Age, and economic interests of the present. As in the XNUMXth and XNUMXst centuries, the struggle of the West against Russia is caused by competition for resources, for rich Eurasian territories, but the USA and Europe carefully cover their predatory appetites with diverse demagogy, discussing human rights, democracy, protecting national self-determination, etc. . The West is even more angry that all its attempts to destroy Russia turned out to be a failure - our country has risen from the ashes after the bloodiest wars and the most terrible destructions.
In the XIX century, the West began to develop the field of the information war against Russia. In the Western press already in the 1850s, during the Crimean War, angry anti-Russian articles began to appear. Quite quickly, European and American publications began to serve Russia solely as a despot and strangler of rights and freedoms. While Western newspapermen exposed the Russian Empire as the punisher and executioner of East European revolutions, British and French colonial troops safely destroyed hundreds of thousands of civilians in Africa and Asia. So the West carried "progress" and defended "human rights."
During World War II, it was the Soviet Union that took upon itself the brunt of the struggle against Hitlerism. Our country suffered tremendous human losses, entire cities were almost wiped off the face of the earth. But now they are also trying to steal the Great Victory from the Soviet state, accusing the USSR of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact (forgetting the Munich agreement) and the occupation of the Baltic states and Poland. In fact, it was the West that gave birth to Hitler, and it was the British and Americans who contributed to his attack on the USSR, hoping that the hands of the Nazis would end communism and the Soviet state.
After World War II, the West, which still accuses the USSR and then Russia of aggressive foreign policy, rejected the model of collective security in Europe proposed by Moscow. It was Western countries that were the first to start an arms race, created an aggressive NATO bloc, and began to revive the military power of Germany. Because of US provocations, the world has repeatedly found itself on the verge of nuclear war. Throughout the second half of the twentieth century, the United States and its allies participated in numerous wars and coups around the world. Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Iraq, Libya, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria - this is not an exhaustive list of countries where the West has left and continues to leave its bloody traces. But it is the USSR and Russia that are not tired of blaming for the aggressive actions in Budapest 1956, Prague 1968, in the presence of Soviet troops in Afghanistan.
Now Russia remains the main adversary for the West. Despite the fact that the Soviet Union collapsed 27 years ago and our country abandoned the communist ideology, Americans and Europeans continue to demonize Russia. It turns out that they simply need an enemy in the east - to enrich themselves on military orders, maintain an atmosphere of fear and hysteria in their own society, to justify their aggressive actions in various countries of the world.
