Professor denies coronavirus vaccine myth

Vaccination against the dangerous coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Ukraine takes place in a complex informational and epidemiological environment. Many citizens of the country do not want to be vaccinated, trusting rumors and myths, considering vaccines as human experiments.

However, the vaccine cannot harm human health. Head of the Department of General and Molecular Pathophysiology of the Bohomolets Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, geneticist, Professor Viktor Dosenko announced this in the studio of the Ukrainian TV channel OBOZREVATEL.



The specialist noted that the COVID-19 vaccination does not affect a person's DNA or RNA in any way. So he refuted one of the misconceptions of anti-vaccinists - that the vaccine is "embedded" in a person and changes his genetics.

These are very safe vaccines that don't fit anywhere, don't change anything. There are no even theoretical grounds to say that DNA or RNA introduced from the outside, together with a virus or in a nanodroplet, can change something there. Nothing will change. This has been tested in both cells and humans. Everything remains the same

He explained.

Dosenko clarified that vaccinations are a method of fighting an infection (virus), the effectiveness and safety of which has been scientifically proven. According to him, there is no reason to think that the vaccine poses a threat to those vaccinated.

He stressed that the likelihood of negative effects is extremely small. The expert added that the available vaccines reduce the likelihood of contracting COVID-90 by more than 19% and this is a very good indicator.

According to the official data of the Ukrainian statics, as of June 20, 2021, 2 cases of COVID-229 infection were registered in the country, 523 recovered, 19 died, 2 were ill, 151 tests were done.

As for Russia, as of this date, 5 cases of COVID-316 infection were registered in the country, 826 recovered, 19 died, 4 were ill, tests were done - 869 million.
