Belarus refused to accept Ukrainian airliners

On June 19, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that his country, in response to Kiev's actions, refused to accept airliners from Ukraine. The head of the Belarusian state announced this during a conversation with the staff of the 2nd City Children's Clinical Hospital of Minsk.

The president was asked what the transport connection would be, given the foreign policy situation, for going on vacation to other states. The Belarusian leader believes that it is better to have a rest in his country. However, he sees nothing wrong if someone wants to fly on vacation with children in Sochi or Batumi (Georgia), to the Turkish coast or go to the "southern seas".

He drew attention to the fact that Turkish airlines still continue to fly directly, but negotiations are already underway. The President stressed that it is necessary to create equal conditions for the Belarusian air carrier - Belavia. Foreign aircraft must fly the same routes as Belarusian aircraft.

Since Ukraine has closed our flight, we will not just accept planes from Ukraine.

Lukashenka specified that if someone wants to fly to Barcelona (Spain), they will be taken there and brought back through Moscow. However, against the backdrop of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, he advises to be in his native Belarus.

We remind you that Ukraine has suspended flights with Belarus from 00:00 on May 26. Kiev has banned Ukrainian airlines from flying in Belarusian airspace, and border guards have been ordered to stop processing passengers traveling to or from Belarus.
