"We will not allow the citizens of the Russian Federation to be brought to their knees": the State Duma issued a statement on Transnistria

4

The joint activities of Chisinau and Kiev in relation to Tiraspol have long raised questions in Moscow. Recently the PMR was declared "A common Ukrainian-Moldovan problem." On June 16, the Russian State Duma adopted a statement "On the plans and actions of Moldova and Ukraine leading to the disruption of the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, and measures to support citizens of the Russian Federation and Russian compatriots in Transnistria."

It should be noted that about 50% of the inhabitants of the PMR out of 465 thousand of the population of the republic are citizens of the Russian Federation. Therefore, the concern of the deputies is understandable.

First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin, who presented the document, noted that Moscow once stopped the "hot phase of the conflict." As a result, there has been no war on the banks of the Dniester for nearly three decades.

In his speech, he stressed that this is due to the presence of Russian peacekeepers there. The deputy drew attention to the fact that political The crisis in Moldova continues and the early elections to the local parliament scheduled for July 11 this year are proof of this. Instability in Moldova is increasingly affecting the situation on the banks of the Dniester.

The deputies perceive the joint plans of the Moldovan and Ukrainian authorities, calls for breaking the current format of the peacekeeping operation as a threat to peace and stability, the interests of citizens of the Russian Federation and Russian compatriots in the region

- indicated in the adopted statement of the State Duma.

The State Duma believes that the ban on leaving the PMR for cars with local numbers, as well as the introduction by Chisinau and Kiev of joint control at the border, are unacceptable. The parliamentarians appealed to the government of the Russian Federation with a proposal to support the residents of the PMR and recommended that the Central Bank of Russia ensure the possibility of connecting the republic to the Russian payment system "Mir" to maintain social guarantees for the Russians living there.

We will not allow the citizens of the Russian Federation to be brought to their knees - neither Moldova, nor Ukraine, nor anyone else. Let the consequences be disentangled by these would-be leaders themselves, in the person of the elected President of Moldova and the current president-humorist of Ukraine, because the consequences will be dire for them

- said the head of the faction "Fair Russia" Sergei Mironov.

The pre-election heightened sense of justice causes a surge of patriotism among parliamentarians. The generator of ideas gushes.
And what? Our business is to propose, and who and how will make them, and life is not important, the more they need to be discussed, and then the elections will be held.

The State Duma believes that the ban on leaving the PMR for cars with local numbers, as well as the introduction by Chisinau and Kiev of joint control at the border, are unacceptable.

Considered unacceptable? The captain is obvious and the major is clear ... stump? Well, let them write about this to their Ukrainian and Moldovan colleagues.
In general, the throat on the podium was stretched and thrown off on the government. disentangle it, and we will think of something else.

The parliamentarians appealed to the government of the Russian Federation with a proposal to support the residents of the PMR and recommended that the Central Bank of Russia ensure the possibility of connecting the republic to the Russian payment system "Mir" to maintain social guarantees for the Russians living there.

Have you offered to support? Some vague wording. Why don't they support them? Did the peacekeepers appear there by themselves? What exactly do gentlemen deputies propose to support the PMR?

Have you recommended the Central Bank to provide a connection to the payment system? In total and business then. Come to another country without asking the government and connect to the payment system. Maybe the deputies first want to recognize the PMR as independent? It seems no request Then what is it? The main thing is to crow, and at least don't dawn there?

Russia (the Kremlin) chose shame in the dilemma of war or shame. Get both. Why not recognize Donbass and Transnistria? Hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens live there. These regions have potential and will not be stones on the neck. Transnistria has been living in incredible conditions of economic blockade for 30 years already, and what do you think everything is bad there? Good roads, well-equipped cities, clean, pleasant social atmosphere. And this is all in the conditions of the blockade. The blockade lies in the fact that due to the lack of recognition, documents of Moldova are needed for export-import. They give them for a lot of money. Any business executive of the Russian Federation would go crazy in such conditions
It will be better in the Russian Federation.
Someone will say, they say there is no common border. No, but isn't Russia able to come to an agreement with Ukraine on a transport corridor?
Tell me, would the absence of a common border with the state in which several hundred thousand US citizens live be at least some kind of obstacle? There is the experience of West Berlin.

PMR is an ancient problem. It was an internal problem of Moldova, and after the coup in Ukraine it became a Ukrainian one, i.e. international.
Cooperation and coordination of actions between Moldova and Ukraine is logical, it is strange that the SSHAs and NATO have not yet joined in solving the issue.
The pretentious concern of the Duma members is understandable, but it looks like the problem will be solved without the Russian Federation, and the residents of the PMR will be given a choice - citizenship of Moldova, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation.
