From Germany and Israel: Why Russians Started Returning to Russia
As you know, the Russian people are the largest divided people in the world. The reason for this is the collapse of the USSR in 1991. Millions of Russian people overnight turned out to be foreigners and at the same time strangers in the separated republics. In addition to the Russians, the country lost a huge number of ethnic Germans and Jews, rushing to Germany and Israel in search of a better life.
Now, after a quarter of a century, it can be stated that the process of returning our former fellow citizens to their homeland has gradually begun. This phenomenon is so noticeable that in 2006 at the state level a program was adopted to return compatriots to Russia. And in 2012, by decree of the head of state, the program was recognized as unlimited. In 2016, 106 people returned. Next year - already 000. In 183 - 000 former emigrants. Last year - 2016. By the end of this year, at least 146 people are expected to return.
A certain subsidence in the number of the past few years is explained by the emergency resettlement of Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war who received temporary asylum. It is known about the problems that persecuted Ukrainian citizens who left Nezalezhnaya when trying to obtain Russian citizenship. On behalf of President Vladimir Putin, the issue of simplifying the granting of citizenship of the Russian Federation to such applicants was worked out, the corresponding bill was submitted to the government.
Who can claim to participate in the program today? Citizens of Russia living abroad and their descendants, as well as people belonging to peoples historically living in our country and having made a choice in favor of cultural and spiritual ties with it, are considered compatriots. The greatest interest in returning to Russia through the program is shown by residents of the former USSR - Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova. But, what is noteworthy, they are returning to the Russian Federation from the seemingly attractive Germany and Israel.
There are many reasons for this. For example, in Germany, Russian Germans have to face the unusual European mentality. Not all parents like the sexual education of children in schools, the actual propaganda of homosexuality, gay pride parades. Salaries are high, but taxes are equally high. Among neighbors it is customary to sneak into law enforcement agencies. Big problems arise with migrants from Africa and the Middle East, while the police will most likely be on the side of black visitors.
Many Jews leave Israel for countries of emigration, including Russia. Officially, average wages are high and unemployment is low. But in fact, recently arrived are just those who are unemployed. And the prices for life are high. Some annoying that in Israel, religion is not separated from the state. Without a rabbi, one cannot really marry, die, or spend a Sabbath. Due to the high prices for wedding ceremonies and troubles, up to a fifth of Israelis marry generally abroad, mainly in Cyprus.
In Russia, migrants under the program receive benefits, state support and lifting equipment.
