Putin gave a characterization to Trump and Biden
Before a personal meeting on June 16 with his American counterpart Joe Biden in Geneva (Switzerland), Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an exclusive interview to the US NBC TV channel. During the conversation, he described the previous head of the United States, Donald Trump, and the current owner of the White House in Washington, and also answered a number of questions.
The American journalist reminded the Russian leader that he had previously called Trump "a bright personality." Then he asked to clarify whether his point of view had changed over the past time.
I still believe that the former President of the United States, Mr. Trump, is an outstanding, talented person, otherwise he would not have become president. He is a bright person. He may or may not be liked by someone.
- Putin said.
The Russian leader drew attention to the fact that Trump was not part of a large policy and the US establishment. At the same time, Putin hopes that there will be no impulsive movements on the part of Biden, because he is an experienced person.
President Biden is fundamentally different from Trump because he has been in politics his entire adult life. He has been doing this for many years. I have already spoken about this. It's an obvious fact
- explained Putin, noting that Biden was a senator for many years.
An American journalist asked Putin what he thinks about the words of Trump and Biden, who both called the master of the Kremlin a "killer."
During my work, I got used to attacks from different directions, for very many reasons, of different quality and severity. This does not surprise me in any way. We are with the people with whom we work - we argue in the international arena. We are not a bride and groom, we do not swear to each other in eternal love and friendship
- Putin pointed out, adding that the parties are partners, although they compete with each other.
Note that Trump asked Biden to convey his best wishes to the head of the Russian state during a personal meeting with Putin. In his opinion, the US-Russian summit in Helsinki, Finland in 2018 was "great and very productive."
