Belarus to further cut volumes of gasoline supplies to Ukraine

Belarusian oil refineries reduce supplies of AI-95 gasoline and diesel fuel to Ukraine. Disruptions in transportation are associated with scheduled maintenance at the Mozyr Oil Refinery, as well as with international sanctions imposed by the West on Minsk.

BNK (Belarusian Oil Company) will be able to supply to the Ukrainian market in June only 40-45 percent of the previously planned volumes of AI-95 gasoline, which, according to Argus, will amount to 18-20 thousand tons. Diesel fuel will be delivered to Ukraine about 170 thousand tons - 70 percent of the base volume. Only the shipment of AI-92 gasoline is carried out without interruption, the Ukrainian side will receive 16 thousand tons of this fuel.



At the same time, Belarus does not intend to completely stop deliveries of AI-95 gasoline to Ukraine, as Sergei Melnik, Deputy Director General of BNK-Ukraine, told LB.ua. According to him, no political there is no reason for the decrease in the volume of fuel supplies to the territory of Ukraine - the matter is, first of all, in the planned repairs at the Mozyr refinery, which began on June 1.

A similar point of view was confirmed by the Ukrainian trade representative Taras Kachka. He noted that what is happening is connected with technological processes of Belarusian producers and will not have far-reaching consequences for the transportation of fuel to Ukraine.

However, Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Russian government, drew attention to the impact of Western sanctions on fuel supplies. According to him, already in May, the shipment of Russian oil to the Novopolotsk refinery was reduced. Probably, large companies from Russia doing business in other countries will not sell oil to Naftan - small firms or an intermediary company created for this purpose will be engaged in this.
