Disclosed a deal between Russia and Israel in Syria

According to the American newspaper The Washington Post, a few days before a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, an alleged deal was concluded between Russia and Israel.

According to the publication, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhu agreed that Israel will “recognize” the Syrian army’s control over the southern regions of Syria (we are talking about the provinces of Daraa, Suweid and Kuneitra). In addition, Tel Aviv will begin to comply with the separation of forces agreement on the separation line, concluded in 1974.

In return, Moscow pledges to convince Iran that its troops do not approach the Syrian-Israeli border closer than 80 kilometers. In addition, the Russian side should not object in cases when Israel begins to bomb Syrian territory on the pretext that Iran is deploying weapons (especially strategic missiles and anti-aircraft missile systems) that pose a threat to the Jewish state.

According to the Washington Post, one of the reasons for such agreements was the position of the United States. Firstly, Washington declared non-interference in the situation around the southern regions of Syria, and secondly, Donald Trump has repeatedly said that he intends to withdraw his troops from the Middle East state.

The newspaper added that during the summit between Putin and Trump in Finland, such an agreement was supported.

Indeed, at a joint press conference between Putin and Trump after the meeting in Helsinki, statements were made that the situation in the Golan region after the defeat of the terrorists should return to the mainstream agreement of 1974.

But is it possible to talk about any deal? The newspaper itself made a reservation that its sources in the US administration could not accurately confirm the information, since Trump did not tell them all the details of the conversation with Putin.

Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu often contacts with the President of the Russian Federation. A personal meeting between them, at which the situation in Syria was discussed, took place on July 11. On July 20, telephone talks were held between Netanyahu and Putin, as well as between the defense ministers of the two countries - Sergei Shoigu and Avigdor Lieberman.

The deal itself (assuming that it really was concluded in this form) looks one-sided. The obligations incumbent upon Israel are self-evident. A sovereign state, such as Syria, does not need Israel to recognize the control of the Syrian army over its own territory. As for the agreement of 1974, Israel is already obliged to fulfill it.

What does Syria get? The answer is one - nothing but the next limitation of its sovereignty and the right to decide whose troops will be deployed on its territory. Yes, and the unpunished blows of an aggressive neighbor on its territory.

It remains to be noted that, if the American publication relies on somehow reliable sources, declaring such a deal, then international law is in a deep corral. On the other hand, the American media put forward many versions based solely on rumors and speculation. Perhaps this publication is an attempt to drive a wedge between the leadership of Russia and Syria, and along with Iran.

Meanwhile, Moscow proposed another arrangement to Washington regarding the restoration of the destroyed Syrian infrastructure. Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation, said that the Russian side was proposing the creation of a joint group to finance this process.

We proposed to create a joint group to finance the restoration of Syria's infrastructure ... The proposals submitted by Russia are currently being worked out by the American side

- quotes the words of Mizintsev RIA News.

Colonel General said that currently in the areas of Syria, which were freed from terrorists, with the support of Russia, normal life is returning and infrastructure is being restored, and the Russian military police are helping to maintain security.

Whether Washington will accept such a proposal is unclear. And if he accepts, it’s not a fact that he will perform in good faith. Many promises sounded from the American side to the inhabitants of the city of Raqqa. But after his release from the “Islamic State” (banned in the Russian Federation), the situation in Raqqa still leaves much to be desired. So, the other day there was discovered a mass grave of killed civilians. According to the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak, about 1200 bodies were recovered from it. These people were killed both by IS fighters and during the air raids of the American coalition. Earlier, the human rights organization Human Rights Watch stated that its specialists examined another mass grave - at the Ar-Rashid stadium. There were corpses of militants and civilians who died during the American bombing. In addition, the United States does not take any measures to mine the city.

Is it possible to assume that Washington will suddenly become seriously concerned about restoring infrastructure throughout Syria, freed from terrorists, if it cannot restore order even in a city that it has taken on its own responsibility? The answer is obvious.

Restoring order, restoring housing and infrastructure - all this is incompatible with American thinking. Only destruction and chaos in this (and in other) regions is their dumb-headed policy.

When we had a war, everyone helped the country: who fought, who dug trenches, who helped the wounded in hospitals, etc. In Syria, even men with an outstretched hand are standing. Power can not organize the people for resistance, there is no one to fight. I feel sorry for our soldiers who are dying for such a people. This Syria needs to be milked once our soldier dies there! In the meantime, only losses from this Syria - pensions, salaries, jobs, taxes and all our people are patient.
