Journalists gave a bang to a speech before Poroshenko at the NATO summit

Despite the bravura statements of the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, as if the doors to NATO were open for him, and the countries that prevent Ukraine from joining this bloc would be “isolated”, in reality everything is different. At the recent summit of the North Atlantic Alliance, Peter Alekseevich had problems ... with the audience.

The video from a briefing in Brussels, in which Poroshenko and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg participated, was published on his Twitter account by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Judging by the video, the President of Ukraine speaks in front of an almost empty hall, in which only a few people are present. Moreover, one of the journalists present left his seat exactly when Mr. Poroshenko approached the microphone.

These video frames were provided with a comment:

When you do something wrong

However, on the eve of the Internet, a photograph appeared from this briefing, which also showed that Poroshenko and Stoltenerg were actually broadcasting in the void - there are only about a dozen listeners in the room. This photo was published on the page of the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian website “Timer” Yuri Tkachev on Facebook and was accompanied by a replica:

Ukraine-NATO: Your opinion is very important for us

Social network users, commenting on this photo, noted that no one expects to hear anything new from the Ukrainian leader. Some commentators joked in the spirit that, they say, everyone went to watch football. A version was also put forward that people at that moment went to dinner.

“The voice of the crying Poroshenko in an empty hall” is not the only thing that this NATO summit attracted the attention of the public. In one of the videos from the event, it was clear that the head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, barely stood on his feet, staggered as if he were intoxicated, and in the end he nearly fell right on the Ukrainian president. This fact also caused numerous jokes among users of social networks. True, the European Commission explained that in fact, Juncker simply had a backache. Media publications on this subject were considered offensive. Perhaps they would not have been if not for the personality of the person whom the head of the European Commission had almost fallen on.

It should be recalled that the NATO summit was held in Brussels and ended on July 12. Despite the fact that the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia requested to join the military bloc, they were again fed with vague promises. However, in order not to push away the "young democracies", the NATO leadership flattered them, positively evaluating the reforms that seem to bring closer membership in the alliance. But there was no talk of any dates.

I sympathize with Stolbtenberg, such a job, to listen to all sorts of Piglets. All smart ones fell, but Stolbtenberg remained. Laughing out loud! It serves him right!
