Develop your own: Russia refused to build factories in the West
Gazprom has decided to abandon investment in foreign refineries in the name of developing the Russian industry. The board of directors of the company explained this decision by a decrease in the profitability of such investments due to market changes taking place on the world market.
Now Gazprom will sell its products exclusively by its own ways and efforts. It is planned to process 40 million tons at Russian refineries with a refining depth of 95% and a yield of light products of 80%.
At the same time, a refusal to invest in foreign refineries does not mean that Gazprom will completely abandon its projects outside the Russian Federation. After all, the company in recent years has been very actively involved in world oil production.
Recently, Gazprom Neft announced its project to develop the Cheshmeh-Khosh oil field in Iran. The company offered to develop the Iranian Shangule field, but here Gazprom Neft will have to compete with the Thai National Oil and Gas Company and the Norwegian oil and gas company DNO, which also proposed their projects for the development of Shangule.
