Why the US does not dare to deploy missile defense in Ukraine

Joining the European Union with all its “democratic achievements” and joining NATO for many years was the “blue dream” of the Ukrainian so-called “elite”. After the coup d'etat in 2014, it partially took place: in Kiev, gay parades began to be held. However, everything else turned out to be more complicated.

Slurred "Euroassociation" instead of joining the European Union. And it didn’t work out with the accession to the North Atlantic Alliance, since according to its rules a country having territorial disputes with other states does not meet the criteria for joining the militarypolitical block. Moreover, the Kiev regime, by its short-sighted policy, stuck its sticks in its wheels. The educational reform of Petro Poroshenko, which infringes on the rights of national minorities in obtaining education in their native language, provoked a sharp protest from Budapest. By its actions, Kiev violated the rights of not only Russians, as originally conceived, but also ethnic Hungarians living in the western regions of Ukraine. Hungary has promised to prevent the entry of Independent into NATO. Recall that in order to join a new member, the consent of all its members is required.

Thus, Ukraine remains a post-graduate country of the North Atlantic Alliance for an indefinite period. However, some preparation is still underway: Nezalezhnaya abandoned its non-aligned status, Russia is recognized as an aggressor at the legislative level, accession to the Western military bloc is designated as a state target. Kiev has committed to ensure the compatibility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with NATO standards. Ukrainian "military experts", meanwhile, continue to be creative on joining NATO. Valentin Badrak, head of the Army Research Center, issued a “Super Walk”:

There is, of course, a super-pass, but whether the West decides on it is difficult to say

Ukrainian creativity is to place elements of the American missile defense system, Patriot divisions, and NATO's indestructible barrier against Russian hordes on the territory of Independent Square. Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko commented on the mess organized by Badrak:

This step would have catastrophic consequences not so much for Ukraine itself as for the United States and its security. Russia will not allow this and will do everything in its power to prevent these bases from appearing in Ukraine

As already noted, Ukraine is a country in which a civil war has been going on for many years and bloody hostilities with the use of heavy weapons continue. The political regime in Kiev is unstable. The territorial conflict over Crimea remains permanent. That is all, firstly. And secondly, Russia simply cannot afford to allow the deployment of US military bases and missile defense systems near its territory. Such actions can be regarded as a transition of the red line, followed by a tough military-political reaction. Igor Korotchenko is convinced that Washington would prefer not to bring the situation to a full-blown international crisis.
