Syria: great success in the south of the country

The territory of the southern Syrian province of Daraa is rapidly being freed from gangs due to military operations of the Syrian army in combination with the difficult negotiation process conducted by Russian specialists of the Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties.

The head of the Center, Major General Alexei Tsygankov, said that most of the leaders of terrorist groups in the Daraa province have announced their cessation of participation in hostilities and the transition to the side of the Syrian government.

The process of resolving the armed confrontation between government forces and representatives of the armed opposition is nearing completion

- said Tsygankov, adding that the militants are delivering heavy and medium weapons in accordance with the agreements.

Now the members of the gangs have a choice: they can surrender to the authorities, exercise the right to amnesty and stay to live in the province of Daraa. If they do not wish to do this, they will be taken to Idlib province with their families.

The agreement provides that some settlements will be controlled not by the Syrian army, but by the Russian military police.

In addition, as a result of negotiations, the militants surrendered the Nasib border crossing, located on the Syrian-Jordanian border and captured by the "opposition" back in 2012, to the army. His release is a very tangible success, given the fact that through this point the terrorists previously received help from external forces.

To date, the SAR army has been able to take control of the entire section of the Damascus-Amman highway, right up to the Nasib border crossing. It hosts army roadblocks.

Suddenly, a peace-loving statement came from Washington. According to RIA News, The Pentagon promises not to interfere in the situation in this area of Syria.

The Ministry of Defense remains focused on defeating ISIS in eastern Syria and does not conduct any operations in western Syria

- The agency quotes the words of the Pentagon spokesperson.

However, the danger of external interference remains. There is another player who is very interested in weakening Syria and in continuing the war in this country. In anticipation of his visit to Moscow, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would not tolerate Iran’s gain in any part of Syria. He plans to talk about this at an upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, Israel intends to demand from Syria compliance with the separation of forces agreement, adopted in 1974.

From previous experience it is clear how easily Israel accuses Damascus of all mortal sins and how, without looking back at international law, it commits acts of aggression against Syria. And Washington’s statement of non-interference in the situation in the Syrian south is not particularly credible.
