The German concern BMW is going to build a full cycle plant in the Russian Federation. Recently, representatives of the German auto industry giant have applied for a special investment contract. The plant is going to be built in the Kaliningrad region.

As you know, negotiations on the construction of the plant have been ongoing since 2012, with Moscow, Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions being considered as the desired regions. Then the Germans opted for the latter region - and this is not only a matter of the history of the region’s close ties with Germany. Since 1999, the Kaliningrad Avtotor has been assembling various BMW models.

When in 2014 in Russia economic the crisis, which affected the purchasing power of the population, negotiations were temporarily stopped. But already in 2016-2017. a new impetus was given to the discussion of an important topic for the Russian and German economies.

In early January 2018, BMW opened a “daughter” of BMW Rusland Automotive LLC in Kaliningrad. This will positively affect the state of the economy, the budget of the region, jobs for engineers, skilled workers and maintenance personnel.
