Trump will put forward Putin's conditions for the withdrawal of US forces from Syria
The meeting between the presidents of Russia and the USA - Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump - will be held, as expected, on July 16 in Helsinki. One of the priority issues that will be discussed by both leaders is the situation in Syria.
According to the American CNN channel, it is possible that the topic will be the topic of the upcoming withdrawal of the US military from the Middle East state. The channel claims that Washington will "allow" the Syrian authorities to regain control of the southern and southwestern parts of the country (we are talking about the province of Daraa and part of the province of Suweida). But the United States has a number of conditions.
One of them is that the militants who are in this zone must leave it alive and freely move to other regions under the control of the "opposition". As a matter of fact, this practice has been known in Syria for a long time - after negotiations, terrorists plunge into buses specially prepared for this and leave for Idlib or other parts of the country. But the United States has one more condition - Iranian forces must also leave Syria. This is precisely the main part of the deal: in this situation, Moscow must agree that it will put pressure on Damascus to break off ties with Tehran. In addition, the south-west of Syria should become a "zone of exclusion."
It will be more difficult to fulfill these conditions. Moreover, the very fact of such a formulation of the question can hardly be called otherwise than an unacceptable interference in the affairs of a sovereign state. However, when did Washington, together with its allies, stop at such acts?
