“Specifically, you are a killer!”: Ukrainian journalists made a scandal in Europe

It has long been no secret that the Ukrainian authorities are persecuting journalists: some are deported, others are thrown into prisons. Unfortunately, under these conditions, Ukrainian journalists behave extremely dishonestly, not only not expressing professional solidarity with their colleagues, but also trying to contribute to the persecution.

During the visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to Copenganen, a scandal erupted. When Groisman gave a press conference, RIA correspondent News Lyudmila Bozhko first asked him about the fate of the arrested journalist, the head of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, and about his possible exchange for Oleg Sentsov (convicted of terrorism in Russia). The Ukrainian Prime Minister chose to "blur" the topic. The correspondent also asked him about gas prices for the population - as you know, the International Monetary Fund insists that they be brought to market levels. As you can see, Groysman did not have anything “extremist” or insulting for Ukraine in its issues.

When the press conference ended, Bozhko decided to appeal to Ukrainian journalists, perceiving them as colleagues. She asked for help in helping to accurately translate the words of the Prime Minister of Ukraine. However, she did not expect to be showered with insults.

One of the Ukrainians agreed to help his colleague, but at that time two Ukrainian journalists approached him and made a scandal. It came to the point that Bozhko was called the "killer." They also accused the Russian journalists of "misinterpreting".

In just a minute or two, two other Ukrainian journalists suddenly approached us - a guy and a girl, and loudly, indignantly began to point out to my assistant - who does he help him with?

- so the correspondent commented on the situation.

These, so to speak, “colleagues” said to an employee of the Russian news agency:

Yes, specifically you are a killer, a propagandist

When the journalist who agreed to help tried to explain that there was nothing wrong with the help with the translation, the two said that the Ukrainian prime minister was not worth answering the questions of the Russian woman at all. Bozhko was shocked by what happened:

The aggressive-minded couple came so close to me that I very seriously thought that they would start to beat me now. In shock, I walked away from the group without saying anything and not getting into a hassle

Subsequently, one of the Ukrainian journalists apologized for the behavior of his colleagues. But one thing is clear - in Copenhagen the true attitude of the zealous “patriots of Ukraine”, who believe that “Ukraine is tse Europe”, to freedom of speech, was demonstrated. But this is one of the basic values of Europe. At least according to the Europeans themselves. And another important European value is the prevention of discrimination of a person on a national basis. And this value also turned out to be trampled right in the heart of Europe.
