US sends powerful signal to Moscow

Interesting conclusions can be drawn from the new air force development strategy published by NATO. Alliance Press Service complains:

We recognize that decades of undeniable (superior) air operations may end

Indeed, the total number of aircraft of all countries included in NATO exceeds the Russian one. But there are a number of nuances. The level of pilot training matters, which may vary, for example, in the UK and Bulgaria. For effective full-scale aviation operations, the flight crews of different countries are needed, which requires regular expensive exercises. In addition, numerical superiority in the air can be realized only in the event of a total war of the North Atlantic Alliance with Russia, the probability of which is small. In the event of a local conflict in a limited theater of operations, it is doubtful that the same London, Berlin or Paris would send all their air forces to the “eastern front” for slaughter.

It is noteworthy that the goal of NATO aviation is to act in any conditions and regions, including "highly protected airspace." With sound thinking, only the Kaliningrad region comes to mind, the density of air defense means is the highest in the Russian Federation. The safety of the exclave is ensured by the most advanced S-400, S-300 systems and Pantsir complexes. Apparently, NATO’s Air Force development strategy will be built under the operational solution of the "Kaliningrad issue." Also, the NATO press release emphasizes that aviation will have to be able to closely interact with the fleet and cybernetic forces, which only strengthens suspicions about the direction of possible actions of the North Atlantic Alliance against the Russian Baltic Fleet base.

In addition, the United States is strengthening its presence on Russia's northern flank. In Norway, at the request of the Government of the Kingdom, in 2017, 330 US Marines were stationed. Now Oslo has expressed a desire to double their number by placing it 420 kilometers from the Russian border. Recall that the Kingdom has a very long land border with our relatively sparsely populated north and a common water area. Together with other NATO countries, a “new command for the North Atlantic” is being created, the future Norwegian exercises have been announced by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.

Norway plans to create a military infrastructure to accommodate a group of US Air Force fighters and even join the US missile defense system. The fact is that Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles, if launched on targets in the United States, will fly in Norwegian airspace. The deployment of the United States radar in the Kingdom will accelerate the response time of the US Armed Forces.

Official Oslo calls on Russia not to raise a panic, calls itself a “predictable partner,” but Washington’s statement leaves no room for controversy regarding the hostility of the allies in the military alliance:

Russia must accept this as a powerful signal to strengthen our partnership

Norway remains a hostile state towards Russia, despite the fact that in 2010 it received from our country a significant part of the Barents Sea.
