Why did Putin resist?

5
The recent presidential election in Russia showed how great support is given to Vladimir Putin by the population of our country. In the world they treat him differently, but, no doubt, they consider him one of the most influential politicians on the planet.

Professor of Cairo University Nurhan al-Sheikh has a recognized authority in the field of international relations. She considers Putin an outstanding Russian leader at the level of Peter the Great. Both rulers took the country not in the best condition and contributed to its revival, challenging the whole world.

Putin with an open visor meets problems and is looking for ways to solve them. He sets goals and moves towards them. Even those world leaders who are not like-minded and allies of Putin, treat him with deep respect and sympathy.

Ms. Nurkhan al-Sheikh believes that there are five sources on which the strength of the Russian president is based.

1. Knowledge and experience

A professor from Egypt believes that knowledge and life experience helped Putin achieve success. He learned the basics economics and jurisprudence, was an officer of the KGB, worked in administrative posts. This experience was rich and varied. He helped Putin shape his worldview and prepare for governing a vast country.

2. Presidential form of government in Russia

When the Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted in 1993, during the era of Yeltsin’s rule, it established a presidential form of government in the country, significantly restricting parliament’s rights. Subsequently, this allowed Putin to gain considerable freedom of action to advance his ideas.

3. Integrity and adherence to the letter of the law

When Putin’s second term ended, he did not try to amend the Constitution to run for a third term. He believes that it is impossible to redo the basic law of the country for the sake of every next ruler. Then he did not advance, and Medvedev won the election. And already in the next presidential election, Putin won an impressive victory.

4. Limiting the power of the oligarchs

If in the 90s financial and industrial structures could influence the decisions of the authorities from the shadows, then Putin stopped this practice. He removed the oligarchs from power. Of course, it should be understood that it is impossible to completely eradicate the centuries-old corruption tradition in Russia, it can only be weakened. And Putin is quite successful.

5. Real success

This is the most important source. No personal qualities and good intentions can replace real affairs. And it’s hard not to notice them in Russia.

He was able to force communists, patriots and liberals to work together for the good of Russia. He prefers to judge people not by political views, but by their business qualities.

The economic recovery after the 2008 crisis was quite successful. Of course, many industries are hopelessly lagging behind world leaders, but progress is evident. For example, Russia was able to achieve significant success in agricultural production and even become a world leader in grain exports.

Russia has achieved great success under the leadership of Putin in the field of security and defense. The Russian Federation has successfully coped with the wave of terrorism within the country, restored the authority and combat effectiveness of its armed forces.

Much has been done in the era of Putin’s rule, but more remains to be done. The country has been given serious tasks that we have to solve. Despite a significant breakthrough, we are still lagging behind the world's leading economies. True, this gap is gradually narrowing.

After what two scumbags, Gorbachev and Yeltsin, had done to the USSR and Russia, our people, like a breath of fresh air, were inspired by the fact that VV Putin began to implement pensions and salaries began to be paid on time, the economy, the army destroyed by the privatizers, rose is gaining power and strength, "Crimea has returned to its native harbor," but ..... but then there were continuous "misunderstandings": After his re-election as president, literally immediately, 1-gasoline prices went up, resulting in a corresponding rise in the prices of goods and food, 2-raised the VAT by 2%, 3-the retirement age is increasing, 4-prices for housing and communal services are increasing from July 1 of this year ... salaries and pensions remained at the same beggarly level, because the people believed our president, as in the Messiah, who will lead our country to creation and prosperity, and it looks like it all turns out. Why not go to the "Direct Line" today, and calm the people , explain what is what, and what he will do with the promised oh, they care about the "welfare of the people" .... And why are those who give the country GDP, mines coal, smelts metal, builds industrial enterprises, produces various machines and units, receive 30-50 thousand rubles a month, and those who sit in Dumas of all levels, mayors, governors, judges, prosecutors - they all receive 400-900 thousand rubles. a month, without contributing a penny to the same GDP with their "labor", but on the contrary, are they plundering the state budget money? And in conclusion, why Medvedev, why Chubais, why Mutko, why Serdyukov and others?

She considers Putin an outstanding Russian leader at the level of Peter the Great. ,,
the author does not see what the successes of Peter I turned out to be (loss of population from 40 to 50%. after the death of the king, the treasury was empty). the author apparently forgets, now other positions and other realities that lead the country into oblivion.

I would not compare Peter the Great with Putin, they have different tasks and different results. I don’t know what happened to the treasury after the death of Peter, but I know that in the time of the Peter the Great, industry, fleet and new cities appeared in the country, and all this costs a lot of money. That the country is empty - somehow I can’t believe it. If half of Russia had died out, it would have been easy for someone to pick up, the same Swedes or Turks.
It’s hard to say where the country is going now. But it seems that serious changes are planned.

I don’t know if the president will survive after the government announced an increase in the retirement age. His rating is now falling, people are disappointed in Putin, there is nothing worse than losing the trust of the people. Prices are rising and will continue to rise, while revenues are falling. I don’t know, but the president will have to try very hard to regain confidence.

Yes, people perceived the increase in retirement age with hostility. And it is advisable to listen to people.
