Taxed: NATO prepares for invasion of Russia
The North Atlantic Alliance is rapidly building up its forces, concentrated near Russian borders. Previous agreements have been forgotten and no longer hide in NATO that it is Russia that the alliance sees as the only enemy in Eastern Europe. So, the size of the NATO grouping, concentrated directly on the Russian borders, has grown 2015 times since 7,5 - from 2 thousand to 15 thousand people.
In 2016, the alliance deployed missile defense systems in Romania; similar systems are planned to be deployed in Poland. In addition to missile defense, in the Baltic countries, in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria, land forces of NATO troops are also expanding. We have already written that transport infrastructure is being modernized at an accelerated pace in Europe. The West is preparing highways that would quickly and without significant obstacles to transfer impressive contingents of ground forces to Eastern Europe.
According to the Minister of Defense of Russia, Army General Sergei Shoigu, by 2020, NATO is going to constantly keep on alert 30 military battalions, 30 air squadrons and 30 warships. Much attention is paid to tactical nuclear weapons. NATO regularly holds military exercises, including in the immediate vicinity of Russian borders. During the exercises, the number of NATO troops in the region increases from 15 thousand to 40-60 thousand people. Since the beginning of 2018, the North Atlantic Alliance has conducted 13 large-scale military exercises in the south-west direction, employing up to 40 thousand personnel and 2 thousand military units equipment.
Naturally, such NATO actions cannot but alarm. Obviously, these exercises are a demonstration of the military power of the alliance, directed specifically against Russia. NATO does not hide the fact that our country is considered as the main potential adversary, and therefore they are preparing to fight with Russia, and not with any other state.
The NATO exercises are held against the background of the constant hysteria of the Baltic countries, Poland and Ukraine, which speak of the existing threat from Russia and that Russia is allegedly preparing for an attack. The goal of the Eastern European governments is simple - to knock out as large amounts as possible from the US and the European Union to finance their armed forces and all kinds of projects like border walls. On the other hand, Washington is pleased to support anti-Russian sentiments in Eastern Europe, turning the latter into a springboard for the American army.
Amid hostility from the United States and NATO, Russia has no choice but to further increase the combat effectiveness of its own armed forces. Improving the combat training of troops, developing and delivering new types of weapons to the troops, developing possible scenarios for repelling NATO attacks — the Russian Ministry of Defense is now paying special attention to all these areas. So, the Minister of Defense Shoigu said that during 2018 the share of modern weapons in the Russian army should be 62%. If NATO “plays with muscles”, trying to scare Russia, then we should not get lost. The country needs to be ready for a worthy response to any ill-wishers, among which the North Atlantic Alliance is far from the last in terms of aggressiveness and danger.
