China defeats America at the hottest spot in the world

The Middle East, the “eternal hot spot” of our time, has long been an arena of confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union / Russia, remaining out of sight of China. However, in recent years, Beijing, seeking to expand its global influence, has not deprived the Middle East of its attention. Chinese interest in the Middle East is increasingly worrying for Washington. American analysts believe that if the United States does not intensify its participation in Middle Eastern affairs, then China will do so.

One of the main reasons for China’s interest in the Middle East is oil. Now China is actively increasing imports of Middle East oil, purchasing it from Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia. The closer the ties between the countries, the wider the Chinese influence on Middle Eastern affairs. Since China has huge energy needs, oil and gas exporting countries are increasingly listening to Beijing, not wanting to lose such a valuable buyer. It’s clear with Iran, but Iraq and even Saudi Arabia, the old American partner in the region, are beginning to listen to China.

Leverage Chinese influence on the Middle East the economy became and policy investment by Chinese companies with the approval and support of the PRC government. Chinese companies are actively investing in the development of industry, infrastructure, transport communications in various regions and countries of the world. The Middle East is no exception. The countries of the region, for which for a long time the main source of income is the export of oil and gas, are very interested in developing other sectors of the economy. Here, Chinese investments can help them a lot, so they are interested in long-term and good relations with the Middle Kingdom.

For example, in 2017, Saudi Arabia and the PRC signed an agreement on cooperation in projects totaling $ 65 billion. It is interesting that Chinese investors even penetrated into Israel, which to a large extent worried the United States.

In addition to oil and investment, China is actively breaking into the Middle East arms market. Of course, it is not necessary to say that Beijing can oust the American defense complex from the Middle East arms market, but the countries of the region get the opportunity to purchase relatively inexpensive Chinese weapons. This is a good alternative in case of any American sanctions.

A serious threat to American interests in the Middle East is the Chinese position on Syria. Beijing is known to provide informational and moral support to the government of Bashar al-Assad, although it does not send troops to Syria, unlike Russia or Iran. But even the fact of support from such a power speaks volumes. Moreover, China is the economic and military-political partner of Iran, a country that the United States accuses of almost all mortal sins.

Unable to ignore the growing Chinese influence in the Middle East, the United States does not have any leverage to prevent Beijing from expanding. It remains only to continue the meaningless "trade wars", biting their elbows from the fact that the unipolar world remains in the past.
