G7 Summit ended in scandal

2
Despite the fact that before the GXNUMX summit held in Canada, and during its holding, there were proposals to restore Russia to the organization (and then it would become the GXNUMX), in practice the event became anti-Russian. The summit’s final communiqué expressed readiness to tighten sanctions against Moscow if, as said, its actions require it.

We are ready to take additional restrictive measures in order for Russia to feel their greater impact.

- the document says.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the Seven countries have committed themselves to “protect our democratic systems from foreign threats” and identify those who will “cause harm”. Obviously, by those who harm the "democracies", we mean precisely Russia. Particularly fiercely for anti-Russian sanctions advocated British Prime Minister Theresa May.

I also welcome the recognition by the G7 of the need to maintain sanctions against Russia

She said.

In addition, Russia was accused of “destabilizing behavior” and called for an end to this threatened retaliation. They again remembered the “Skripal affair”, as well as the presence of Russian troops in Syria (legal, unlike the presence of the American coalition!).

We urge Russia to stop its destabilizing behavior, undermining democratic systems and supporting the Syrian regime

- said in the communique.

G-XNUMX leaders again accused Syria of using chemical weapons and also criticized Iran, whose actions were also considered "destabilizing."

Meanwhile, the summit was not without scandal. US President Donald Trump, who left Canada before the end of the event, ordered his country’s representatives not to sign the final document. Disagreement arose between the US and Canada over duties.

Based on Justin’s false statements at his press conference and the fact that Canada imposes large-scale duties on US farmers, workers and companies, I instructed US officials to disapprove of the communiqué, as we are considering duties on cars flooding the US market

Trump said on his Twitter account.

The American leader accused Justin Trudeau of dishonesty and lies, because during the meeting he showed gentleness, and after Trump left, he began to say that American duties were offensive.

For his part, Trudeau completely denies the allegations made by Trump. His spokesman, Cameron Ahmad, wrote in an official blog:

We are focused on everything that we have achieved at the G7 Summit. The Prime Minister did not say anything that they had not been told before.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on a visit to China, has responded to allegations made by the GXNUMX. He called for an end to the chatter.

As for the words about destabilizing actions, as well as in relation to some other events, in particular, everyone showed solidarity with London about the famous event in Salisbury, but nothing concrete was said again. Everything is said “with a high degree of probability” ... It seems to me that we need to stop all this creative chatter and go on to specific issues related to real cooperation

- said the head of state.

He added that the Russian Federation did not leave the GXNUMX. On the contrary, these other states at one time refused to come to Moscow. According to Putin, he would be glad to see all his colleagues in Russia.

However, judging by the unfriendly attitude of the G7 leaders, all this anti-Russian chatter will not stop soon, and calls for normal relations will remain unanswered.
