ASUS showed the most powerful smartphone with external cooling

Another unusual offspring ASUS saw the light. This time, the company introduced the ROG Phone gaming smartphone with a 90 hertz display and a modular port, to which, among other additional accessories, an external cooler can be attached to provide additional cooling.

No matter how funny it may seem to anyone, but the smartphone itself is a small thing, and therefore putting all the possible functions into it is often a very difficult task. As a solution, some developers prefer modular designs, that is, devices that, if necessary, can be supplemented with various components (modules), thereby expanding the functionality of the device.

Some companies (for example, Google and LG) make modules mandatory, albeit a replaceable part of their devices, while others (Motorola) allow the device to work regardless of the presence or absence of modules. ASUS decided to go the second way: their smartphone can do fine without modules, but the built-in software and ports allow you to connect them at any time.

The new smartphone is equipped with a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160 × 1080 and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, 8 GB of RAM and 2,96 GHz with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It is powered by a 4000 mAh battery. For the modular port located on the left side edge, the company introduced several additional devices, including the cooler mentioned above, as well as the TwinView Dock gamepad with an integrated screen. In addition, the smartphone can be used as a computer power supply by connecting the usual monitor, mouse and keyboard to it. The start of sales is expected in the 3rd quarter of this year, the cost of the device and related modules is not specified.
