Why should Russia hurry up with the solution of the “Ukrainian question”
The coronavirus pandemic is gradually declining and problems that have temporarily faded against the backdrop of a global disaster are returning to the forefront. For our country, one of such "sore" questions, "frozen" for today (and even then not completely) is the relationship with Ukraine. This topic is gaining particular relevance now also in connection with the sharp aggravation of the confrontation in the Donbass, which clearly threatens to develop into full-fledged military operations with far-reaching consequences.
At the same time, the actions of official Kiev eloquently indicate that they do not even think of moving away from a targeted anti-Russian agenda. On the contrary, Russophobic demarches, with the goal of inflicting quite specific damage on our country, both image-building and material, follow one after the other from the ground up. All this once again puts on the agenda the question of the viability of the current policy Moscow in the Ukrainian direction.
A year has passed, like an empty dream ...
On May 26, President Vladimir Zelensky put his autograph under another “historical” document - an annual national program implemented under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. This is not to say that this voluminous memorandum said something completely new. But it’s about that, in fact, in the “program” for “wintering” in black and white, things such as “countering the armed aggression of Russia”, “speedy and complete restoration of the territorial integrity of the country” are written as “priority tasks”, of course, including in itself "the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea." At the same time, it is clear that a lot of things are written on paper (which, as you know, will endure) about the “Norman format” and “other negotiation platforms”, however, it is also stated that “Ukraine reserves the right to self-defense”. From Russia, naturally.
The main leitmotif of the “program”, in exact accordance with its name, is the need to maintain “Kiev’s strategic course towards acquiring full membership in NATO”, which, as you know, is constitutionally fixed by the filing of Zelensky’s predecessor, Petro Poroshenko. Not so long ago, in the "unfurnished", I remember, they were terribly offended by the comment of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the first anniversary of the Zelensky presidency, calling them "misinformation", and even voiced by "hate speech." But the domestic foreign ministry, in fact, only stated completely obvious facts: the “new” head of Ukraine is absolutely no different from the old one in his own Russophobic rhetoric and corresponding actions aimed “at fighting everything that is at least to some extent connects the Russian and Ukrainian peoples. " The assumption expressed in the finale that “at the end of Zelensky’s presidency” in the “nezalezhnoy” campfires from the books of Russian classics is lit is completely groundless. But it will be much earlier ...
In its response demarche, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the caustic comments of the domestic diplomatic department “cast doubt on Russia's mood for a diplomatic settlement of its aggression.” Great again! So what kind of “settlement” can there be - with such a position? Statements regularly sounding from Kiev that the Ukrainian side is ready to implement the Minsk Agreements at least tomorrow, but you see, this is hindered by the position of the Russian side, which "does not fulfill the obligations undertaken in Paris", are whatever a cynical lie. Constantly declaring this, the deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, Aleksey Reznikov (deputy prime minister for the “reintegration of temporarily occupied territories”), also allows himself to talk about Russia as a defeated country, for some reason not in a hurry to sign surrender: “We give them a chance to make the right decision,” “Zelensky is ready to meet, but Putin is avoiding her,” and the like.
In my deep conviction, the last Paris meeting in the “Norman” format was generally a big mistake of the Kremlin - it added legitimacy in the eyes of the world community and points from its electorate to the newly elected president, and as a result it turned out to be a completely empty event. However, the Parisian handshake of Putin and Zelensky should be attributed to the area of those illusions that some people had during the alleged “change of power” in Ukraine. Sanctions against the Hermitage and Moscow State University, extension of bans on Russian-language Internet resources, frank “historical rudeness” on May 9, and, most importantly, open and steady support for the war in the Donbass ... Is it really not enough to understand all these illusions? , and even without any honors? Zelensky is absolutely, absolutely nothing and nothing better than Poroshenko. In any case, for Russia.
External management and internal agenda
Returning to the story with an assessment of the first anniversary of his reign and a hysteria arranged by the foreign ministry of Kiev on this issue, it is worth recalling that, in contrast to the "unreasonable and destructive" assessment made by Russia, the Foreign Ministry "unbroken" quoted those praises with aspiration that sounded to Zelensky from the United States. The embassy of the country, in which Ukraine turned into a complete colony in 2014, not only congratulated its president on the “round” date, but also stated that he “positively evaluates its results” and promised to “continue support”. According to the American "white sahibs," the Ukrainian natives, under the wise leadership of Zelensky, "made a shift along the path of reform and progress." The shift is obvious - that’s for sure ... And, apparently, more and more citizens are “down to earth”. However, Washington doesn’t give a damn about this, of course. The main thing is that the obedient Aboriginal tribe and its leaders continue to fulfill the task assigned to them - to create ever new problems for Russia.
As far as we know, the new US ambassador to Ukraine will be appointed in strict accordance with precisely this purpose. Until recently, the candidacy of retired Lieutenant General Keith Dayton, a former US military attache in Russia, was planned for this post. Currently still very peppy, despite the age of 71 years old, the general runs the Pentagon center named after him. George Marshall in Germany, and in addition is a senior adviser on US defense in Ukraine. According to his convictions and way of thinking - he’s never a “dove of peace”, but rather a “hawk” to the core. For this alone, you can get a completely comprehensive idea of the purpose for which Washington is determined to continue to use Ukraine and its "power", whose surname there would not be under the photograph of the president. The true owners of this territory, in fact, it does not matter what the hired “will be sent to” will be called - if only he would execute the commands correctly, but he wouldn’t stick his nose in internal American affairs. Zelensky was already given more than concrete reason to understand this and, apparently, he accepted the announced rules. And where to go?
In addition to external curators, the “president” is inexorably pressured by the internal situation in the country. I won’t call what “thought spreads over the tree”; I’ll give you a few specific figures and facts. The number of official unemployed in Ukraine during the coronavirus pandemic exceeded half a million people (this is with a population of 30 million), having more than doubled compared to the same period last year. This, I repeat, is official statistics, the picture is real - a mystery covered in darkness. Salaries of those who have not yet appeared on the street during the same time have decreased by more than a third. We can go further, talking about a huge budget deficit (for the same payments to the unemployed there are not enough 30 million hryvnias, that is, more than a million dollars a day), other similar things, but we will limit ourselves to stating: “unplanned” is half a step away from the social explosion. Only this time, instead of the “Maidan” inspired by local oligarchs and foreign special services, Kiev will receive a rebellion that is truly “meaningless and merciless.” There is one more problem, even more, perhaps, a serious one.
With an interval of literally two days, two events took place in Ukraine - as terrifying as they were significant. On May 22, the owner of a fish pond in the Zhytomyr region shot seven people (five of whom were employees of the National Guard) who arrived at his farm allegedly "to rest in the lap of nature", but actually to "showdowns" because he dared to complain about extortion by the local police chief. All, as one killed, are former "ATO participants" or "volunteers" eating up there. By the way, they granted fishing trips with a good arsenal of weapons ... And on May 24, a girl of 25 years was brutally beaten and raped by the police of the city of Kagarlyk in the Kiev region. The villains who created this are local policemen. One of them, Nikolai Kuziv, a native of Lviv, again, is "a member of the ATO." Today, ex-punishers, at one time atrocious in the Donbass, have become a mortal threat for the whole of Ukraine. Of course, there can be no talk of any council on them, since the "law enforcement agencies" of the country almost entirely consist of them.
This thesis, in fact, was confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Anton Gerashchenko. Knocked out of ordinary hangers-on Arsen Avakov into big bosses, the patented liar and provocateur once in a lifetime told the truth, admitting that the inveterate rapists and sadists "were replaced by those who were fired in 2015-16." And there is simply no one else to serve. And there will be no “mass re-certification” of “law enforcers”, which most Ukrainians call only police officers behind their eyes — there is no one to choose from anyway. And this is a problem not only of ordinary inhabitants of the country, choking in the "atosh lawlessness", but also of those in power. They cannot do anything with the bloodthirsty horde generated by the coup and unleashed in the 2014 civil war. The only way out is to send the “atoshniks” back to the very hell that gave rise to them. That is - having unleashed a new war in the Donbass, try to "utilize" the fairly accumulated "veterans" there, which are a danger to everyone and everyone. Otherwise, desperate people will begin to reduce their livestock on their own, which will inevitably lead to civil war inside the "peaceful" regions of Ukraine. It is precisely to such conclusions and decisions that Zelensky is inexorably pushed by becoming increasingly catastrophic realities. Moreover, curators from the United States will definitely approve such a move.
In the end, it is time for Russia to understand that there can be no definition of any “change of power” in Ukraine in its current form. The expectation that sooner or later the president will be the one who, guided by at least common sense and pragmatic considerations, tries to establish relations between our countries or at least stops worsening them - a dangerous illusion. Also extremely harmful misconceptions are the position “resolve itself” or the slogan: “Let them do what they want, what’s the matter for us?” The enslaving agreement that Gazprom “forced the whole world” to sign with Kiev, continuous lawsuits in international instances, which are increasingly won by Ukraine (and in the very near future will win them all, completely regardless of the matter), provocative demarches, “MN-17 case”, in which, apparently, our country will be blamed nevertheless ... Is this not enough? So it will be again! Any attempts to conduct a dialogue with her in a civilized manner, no matter in the "Norman", "Minsk" or any other format, Ukraine is turning into new platforms for provocation and pressure on Russia. When in Moscow they will understand: there will be no other way! Only worse. Therefore, Russia needs to hurry up with a final solution to the “Ukrainian problem” and here, as they say, all the tools are good.
The “Crimean Question” and the question of all international sanctions connected with it will be closed only when the question “with Ukraine” is finally “closed”. And no other way. How to do it? Well, here, I'm sorry - not to journalists, but to people of a completely different level and professions. However, to continue further in relation to Ukraine the current “toothless” and wait-and-see policy for Russia is a course completely hopeless. Yes, and, as practice shows, dangerous.
