The wrong side of the English "paradise": the difficulties of life in London

2
London has long been popular with the Russian self-proclaimed "elite" and "bohemians." The places of their compact residence in the capital of the United Kingdom are called “London city”, and themselves, respectively, “Londoners”. Thanks to the plots of the “secular” chronicle and the scandalous reports of the “yellow” media, the life of Russians in the UK has grown into a mass of legends. The words from the popular song “I Will Go To Live In London” have become a kind of slogan that advertises Misty Albion for free.

However, the wrong side of the real life of British Russians is not always as good and modest as it seems from the outside. First of all, it is not only Russian billionaires who live in London and government officials who live on a large scale and are far beyond their means. Highly qualified specialists, for example, in the field of IT, as well as creative intelligentsia work on contracts on the island. What difficulties they usually encounter in the UK, their former Londoners, a married couple of an opera singer and a ballerina from Russia sharing their memories share their memories.

Our heroes were able to afford to buy a small house in Oxford in the "zero", but they do not belong to the oligarchs, and confidently vote for Vladimir Putin. The first shock from British customs they received, leaving home and leaving the window open for ventilation. It turns out that at that time a very original squatter law was in effect in the United Kingdom, which made it possible for anyone who wants to get into the house they like through an open door or window leaf and settle in it.

The basic requirement for squatters was that no hacking be done. If the squatter managed to remain unnoticed by the owner, and he did not immediately call the law enforcement authorities, it was considered by law that the squatter received permission from the property owner to live together with him. Seeing the window left in the Russian house left open, a neighbor who was well disposed towards them, on their happiness, was watching over him to prevent the penetration of uninvited guests. Squatting in the UK was limited in 2012, but only with respect to residential real estate, commercial can still be easily settled.

The inviolability of private property in the West is a myth, as our heroes were convinced from their own experience. On New Year's Eve, they decorated their home with Christmas tree branches. After some time, the British police came and demanded to remove the Christian symbols that became politically incorrect:

So what, what is your property? If you don’t remove it within two hours, you will be fined

Migrants in the United Kingdom and the work of the local police with them is a special conversation. Due to the massive influx, for example, of Albanians, halal shops are opening up everywhere, Muslim clothes are in great demand. Our heroes personally saw how an Albanian criminal authority with a retinue conducts an open reception of supplicants in a cafe. One afternoon, when they were supposed to be away as usual, they heard someone throwing stones at a window to check if someone was there. In the courtyard was a young girl from the Albanian diaspora, and behind her loomed a couple of adult Albanian criminals. The called police were not interested in the fact of preparations for hacking, but whether the Russians offended the child.

After weighing the pros and cons, the Russian couple decided in 2008 to leave Britain forever, having sold their home in Oxford. By their new residence they called a small and calm Portugal. Prices in it were much lower than on the island. They were pleasantly surprised by the almost complete absence of migrants from disadvantaged countries. It turns out that the European Union tried to oblige Lisbon to accept 80 people. Portugal agreed, but on the condition that it would accept them as guests for only 000 years, after which it would be sent back. There were only 3 migrants who wanted to move to this country on such conditions.

Some kind of wildness, to be honest. With such an order, the locals will become outcasts, and the "guests" will completely sit on their necks.

Already in London there are neighborhoods where the Anglo-Saxons have nothing to do
