Threw a match: Israel is about to burn

1
From the very beginning, as soon as U.S. President Donald Trump had the idea of moving his country's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, declaring the latter the capital of the Jewish state, it was clear that this would add fuel to the fire of a long-standing conflict in the Middle East and provoke clashes. And so it happened. The result of the "festive" ceremony - dozens of dead, thousands of wounded.

In this matter, even many of its traditional allies in Europe did not support Washington. They note that without agreeing on the status of Jerusalem with the Palestinians, the transfer of embassies is an undesirable phenomenon. In turn, the Palestinians believe that the eastern part of Jerusalem is the capital of their independent state, the creation of which the majority of the Palestinian people insist.

On May 14, the day of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Israel, a ceremony was held to transfer the US Embassy to Jerusalem. At the same time, clashes broke out in the Gaza Strip between the Israeli army and the protesters against the US decision. More precisely, the situation in the sector was already tense after the “Earth Day”, which the Palestinians celebrated with the “March of Peace” at the end of March. This march also led to conflict with the Israeli military and to human casualties. But the ceremony, arranged by the United States, exacerbated the situation even more. Protesters tried to break through the border fences, and the Israeli army opened fire to defeat.

Since May 14, the death toll has already exceeded six dozen people, among them - a baby, who suffocated as a result of the use of tear gas. Two thousand citizens were injured.

Husam Zomlot, head of the Palestine Liberation Organization delegation, accused Washington of seeking to fuel the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Unfortunately, the US administration has chosen the side of Israel with its claims to exclusive rights to a city that for centuries has been sacred to all religions. The transfer of the embassy will breathe life into a religious conflict instead of a decent peace

He declared. Now Zomlot will leave the United States in connection with the decision of the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, on the recall of the ambassador from Washington.

The situation was discussed at a meeting of the UN Security Council. US Permanent Representative to the UN Nikki Haley believes that Israel is "acting restrained." She does not want to see the deaths of civilians, claiming that the protesters allegedly belong to the Hamas group.

In her usual arrogant manner, the US envoy did not even want to listen to the opposite opinion. Nikki Haley left the hall before the speech of the Permanent Representative of Palestine, Riyad Mansour.

However, Israel’s actions provoked protests even among countries that too often previously agreed with policies USA. One such state is Turkey.

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the behavior of the Israeli authorities genocide, and the Jewish state itself - terrorist. Turkish authorities have strongly recommended that Israeli Ambassador General Eitan Nahu leave the country. Moreover, the diplomat was inspected by law enforcement agencies. To date, he has already flown out of Turkey.

Earlier, Turkish authorities announced a temporary expulsion of the Israeli ambassador. The Turkish Foreign Ministry also appealed to the Israeli Consul General in Istanbul with an appeal for some time to leave the country. In addition, Ankara recalled the Turkish ambassador from Tel Aviv for consultations.

In turn, Israeli media reported the day before that Israel would expel the Turkish consul from Jerusalem after Ankara announced the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Turkey.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Turkey should not “preach” to his country.

Let the person who sends thousands of Turkish soldiers to support the occupation of northern Cyprus and invade Syria not preach to us when we defend ourselves against Hamas attacks

- The press service of the Israeli prime minister said in a statement.

Of course, it is more than strange to hear a statement regarding Syria from a person under whose leadership rocket attacks are constantly being carried out on the territory of this country, but the Syrian card can be played even in such an “exchange of courtesies” between predator states, one of which may be right in any other matter ...

For its part, the Israeli Foreign Ministry called for the explanation of the Turkish ambassador, protesting that an inspection was carried out against the Israeli diplomat by the Turkish authorities. The Turkish consul, who worked in Jerusalem, was expelled in response to the decision of Ankara.

And then France and Germany disagree with the actions of the Israeli authorities. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed concern over the events in the Gaza Strip during telephone conversations with Netanyahu. According to Macron, it is necessary to protect the right of civilians to peaceful protests.
