US is preparing a replacement for the dollar

A curious idea is being discussed in the United States. Professional American investor Sam Altman has proposed the creation of a new national American cryptocurrency. As conceived by the innovators, it will have to replace the US dollar in the virtual world. The patriotic name cryptocurrency came up quickly - "Americanoin".

Supporters of "americoin" are convinced that in the 21st century it is time to get away from paper banknotes and metal coins. It is estimated that since the beginning of 2018, the US Federal Reserve spent 860 million on printing and stamping the national currency. These funds went to special paper and paint, metal for coins and electricity for stamping machines. It is also necessary to consider the cost of regularly replacing dilapidated banknotes with new ones. The authors of the initiative do not forget about the problem of counterfeiting.

The authors of “americoin” propose to convert American dollars into digital format as follows: withdraw US $ 10% from US citizens, generate an equal amount of national cryptocurrency and make an exchange. Then repeat the process until the US dollar is fully digitized.

This amusing initiative is causing legitimate criticism. According to statistics, only 70% of citizens of the United States of America have guaranteed access to the global network, only 75% have smartphones. Not all of the US population has sufficient financial and Internet literacy that could save them from scammers who can take advantage of the situation for easy money. Again, it is difficult to predict how Americans who have the right to carry firearms in many states will respond to attempts to withdraw real bills from them.
