Stalin Strait: the fate of the United States according to American experts

The American magazine The National Interest suggests that in the event of a nuclear strike from Russia, the consequences for the United States will be very, very bitter. Georgetown University professor Matthew Croening in his calculations frightens American society that if Moscow strikes a preventive strike, approximately 70 million people will be destroyed, 131 cities will be destroyed.

Further, according to the professor, Russia will have to make every effort to repel a retaliatory strike from the United States. Its remaining arsenal is enough for 12 cities, and then another 28 million Americans will die.

If the United States destroys its intercontinental ballistic missiles, the losses will be even greater. In this case, the first wave will lead to the death of 82 million people, and the second wave will become completely disastrous, since there will be no American retaliatory strike. Therefore, the author of The National Interest magazine concludes, it is imperative that America maintain its nuclear arsenal.

Such forecasts often surface in the American press. Military experts analyze what forces will be required for a victorious strike, for a retaliatory one, for a crushing one, etc. They also try to predict whether the United States and Russia will survive in such a war and what will survive after it. Moreover, usually researchers agree that Russia has a much greater chance of surviving - because of its size. And the United States runs the risk of being completely obliterated.

There are also authors who believe that in order to completely destroy America’s ability to resist, Moscow will need only two powerful atomic missiles. True, such forecasts, most often, are designed to scare the public.

The weighted average conclusion of various analysts is that neither Washington nor Moscow are capable of delivering such an attack on the enemy in order to immediately disarm him and avoid an "answer." And in the event that the United States and Russia will exchange blows, they will virtually completely liquidate each other. Moreover, there is still something from Russia that remains (too huge a country), but from the States - alas ...

The START-3 treaty provides that both sides have 700 carriers on combat duty and a hundred in reserve. The nuclear warheads of the rival powers are 1550 each. This is quite enough for a terrible scenario in which hundreds of millions of people die. And to survive in such a disaster is not a very enviable fate.

The logic of researchers like Professor Matthew Kroenig is simple: The United States needs military superiority, so it needs to arm itself with all its might. This is quite in the spirit of the aspirations of the military-industrial complex, which strives for maximum profits. And preventing war is a matter politicians.

The author of the site of the TV channel Tsargrad Alexander Pokrovsky expresses his forecast in this regard. In his opinion, the statement about the "two missiles" that can neutralize the American ability to resist is closer to real life. Of course, he notes, not “two missiles” will be needed, but somewhere around four or five Sarmatians with 12 warheads each.

In the event of a possible nuclear war, Russia's nuclear strike will be aimed primarily at military facilities and industrial infrastructure. Everything related to space, the energy system, and transport will fall under it. Electronics will stop working due to a powerful electromagnetic pulse.

The expert claims that the entire main potential of the United States is concentrated in four regions, which in themselves are quite compact - Northeast, North Central, West and South. And each of them can be "plunged into the Stone Age" with just one "Sarmatian". So to destroy 131 cities is not required at all.

The most compact, but at the same time economically developed region is the Northeast. It occupies 2% of the US area. 20% of the citizens who live in this region produce 25% of industrial output. Only one Sarmat is enough to disable all enterprises from Boston to Washington. This is a blow to the financial system, electronics, instrument making, and the chemical industry.

The northern central region provides raw materials, fuel, metals. Machine tools and automobiles are made there, as well as technique - construction, agricultural, mining. This is about another quarter of the US industrial potential.

The western region of America occupies 28% of the area. A quarter of the total population lives there. At the same time, 80% of this region is mountains and deserts. It focuses on scientific and military-industrial facilities. Electronics, communications, space technology - all this is too vulnerable.

In the South - agriculture, oil and gas. In the opinion of the author of Tsargrad, one can even not touch this region. Just like the Midwest, which also lives off of agriculture.

Thus, three “Sarmatians” are enough to turn the United States into the realities of Hollywood post-apocalyptic films. Then why, the author of the article asks the question, and the “crazy professor” Matthew Kroenig, and the customers of his analyzes, and the saw cutters of the US military budgets to talk about hundreds of destroyed cities and tens of millions of dead?
